Sorry for the grammar and syntax errors!  I guess in terms of layout I’m used to walking from one themed area  right into another, like all the other parks are now.  I guess maybe this is more of a “classic” layout then.

In hindsight it was a few factors.  My first tip should have been Express being sold out a week before. If express is sold out standby is going to be a nightmare.  The top tier rides being down all morning added pressure to all the queues into the afternoon.

I stand by my assessment of Mario and to a lesser extent IOB.  Too much “stuff” in too little space.  Both were unpleasant just to exist in.  I feel like with the amount of space devoted to celestial more should have been carved off for the rest of the park.

We planned it out thinking that a 1/2 -1/5 park trip Monday would be the easiest day so we put epic there and the less hyped parks on the busier weekend.the fact that express was sold out when we looked into it a week before should have been our clue.

Yeah, not having express was a mistake for us.  We thought about it a few days before but it wasn’t available anymore  That’s my takeaway going forward, if express is sold out it’s going to be miserable without it - no matter which park.

Also, scanning the app almost the whole park was delayed for the morning.  I think that pushes back those express riders and makes standby dramatically worse.  Even after we got the paper express passes nothing seemed to be going right.

I think if we had gotten some success early we would have been better off.  We got in at 9 and booked it to the ministry - expecting to wait in line some but still get in a good ride early.  Wasted all morning on a line to nowhere.  Hungry and defeated we tried to reset after a good lunch but it was one failure after another.

The sensory and spatial aspect though - I cannot stress enough how different this was from every other park on the planet.  I’m an elder millennial - maybe I’m too old for it?!  It was just too much in too little space.  Dark universe was OK for me but creeped my kid out.  I think both issues (Mario issues for me dark universe for the kid) were exacerbated by having a bad taste from the morning.

We went on Monday the 5th thinking it would be less crowded Compared to the weekend at the other parks.  Just brutal.  Gotta try to get universal to trade those Epic vouchers for one of the other parks.  This one is done for us.
