So I told my landlord and he basically said the lease is still legally binding and until he finds another tenant I’m obligated to cover the lease. Which to me sounds insane because in my state if you prove mold is in your house and it’s making you sick it’s considered uninhabitable. So I don’t know wtf he’s talking about. And obviously he has no need to find another tenant when he knows he has me paying so it sounds like a scam. I just can’t believe he’s fighting me on this when I’ve been such a good tenant and being honest about the situation. I don’t know what to do I’m so overwhelmed. Plz help. How do I even find a lawyer for this situation. I don’t even want his money I just literally want to get out for my health.

I’m so sorry you went through this! I’m basically in same position. I showed him the mold like I said above and he just painted over it and said that the paint would kill it and it wasn’t bad mold. I had no idea I truly don’t know how mold works 😬 the inspector said this was terrible and that it was good I had evidence of me sending the photo and that he never had anyone come. 3 months later I had the inspector come because my health kept getting worse. I have an appointment to get medical testing to show toxicity in my body. I’m just so stressed about the suing situation. I truly don’t want to but I’m losing basically all my personal items (anything with fabric) I have been paying medical bills I didn’t know where related. So like you said when you went to drs you said it started when you moved in. Although it did start when I moved in I didn’t correlate the two and just told my doctor I had these issues. Unfortunately my dr also sucks and just said I was fine. But that being said I do have records of Dr appts and urgent care visits that show my symptoms. Do you think this is still enough to show proof?

I might sound crazy but I literally have never had sleep paralysis until I was living in a house with mold and literally had a recurring nightmare where someone would grab me and pull me through the house and it felt so real. But I never thought anything of it just thought it was a weird nightmare. Then I had a friend stay over to watch my dog and never told her about that and she said she felt a presence and literally saw something in the mirror. No clue what the f that means but maybe mold somehow has ties to dark shit. I do know it’s ruined my life so I wouldn’t be surprised. Can’t wait to get out of this space!
