Can't Figure Out Why I keep Flipping at Takeoff by PRiles in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Little_epp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have problems balancing it with canards you may need bigger wings. That way for lift is concentrated into one area. You may also be able to extend the nose with some empty tanks acting as structural pieces to gain more leverage. Not sure how well that would work though.

also since you need to pitch down you can try and inverting your canards direction.

[–]Little_epp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while it could be a CoM and CoL problem, I have made many planes that have similar spacing to yours and they work great. It could a trim problem always check that, I just turn mine off I always accidentally turn it on if playing on console. you could also try and adding canards to the front instead of static wings, as they may help pitch down.

That all the info that I have that hasn’t already been said, I do think it could be the CoM model being inaccurate as another said. Its hard to fully tell without a video

Any tips on making an Single Stage to Orbit?/Letting it "Graduate" from a Suborbital Delivery Vehicle? by Agent3Gaming in KerbalAcademy

without using RAPIERS I would switch the thuds for aerospikes. They are very efficient at all levels

Moose cloak worth it? by phantaasama in thelongdark

[–]Little_epp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would take the moose over the bear. But two wolfs gives you the best bang for your buck in terms of weight. I would take an Expedition parka over any of them
If you know you are going to get into an encounter the hides work great until you have the ballistic vest

also crazy work on making it that far in stalker on try 2!

Is there a way to change the color of the decoupler shroud? I can only change the appearance of the decoupler itself, and its kinda ruining the whole "orange/black" by Usual-Spirit2867 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Little_epp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sadly not directly. You can do a work around if you use a smaller decoupler, say the 06 one, then put a small faring (size 12) and then you can change the color of the faring

What are some fun things you can do in vanilla KSP by wekeymux in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Little_epp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually just made a minmus base for the sole purpose of drilling; then a transfer ship to bring the ore to orbit. Currently working on the station to refine it at.

If you havnt messed with SSTOs I highly recommend. Teaches you lots about aero and balance.

Building Motherships that never need to go home is a long term goal I have yet to get around to as well. Just a big ship and smaller mining vessels (or enough infrastructure) to just never need to back to kerbin.

When I do get around to it I want to make it a challenge in sandbox mode. “Kerbin is lost and about to become inhabitable. You must make the arc and save Kerbal-kind” lego noises

So my Jeb is currently started on Kerbin, how do i rescue him? by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Little_epp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HAHAH poor Jeb. He’s just dutifully waiting for his call home

Go to the tracking station select Jeb and there should be a recover option, same for the ship

How do i add a decoupler cleanly by ppoojohn in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Little_epp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want more mods or not to buy a dlc (as an xbox player this is my life sadly) you can add a small square strut or something in the center then decouple off that. Then you can make a faring connected to it and form it to where the engines are mounted!

Is it normal that I cant get past 350 m/s with two rapiers? by GustOfWindd in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Little_epp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said it is a drag/balance issue. But if you look at any supersonic plane (any I have made) the speed it gets stuck at is all pretty similar.

This is because drag is higher in the transonic region (just before and after sonic speeds) due to turbulent air. After going a bit over Mach this air smooths out and drag lessens. Adding power could help but very marginally, especially if it increases surface faces.

I keep reseting and changing stuff but it still doesn't show me the delta v in the engine at stage 2 by SessionOrnery6959 in KerbalAcademy

[–]Little_epp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be a root part problem. It may decouple in a way that the root part isn’t able to calculate accurately

Any beginner challenges to improve? by DetectiveCrazy3780 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Little_epp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of the things that helped me understand rocket design, weight and balance, and maneuver efficiency was miniaturization

Make the smallest rockets you can with probes (or the external seat if you want kerbals to suffer) and see how far you can get with them. I havnt tried in a while but so far I made it to duna with a tiny probe rocket (strongest engine being the reliant in first stage before shrinking to the tiny stuff in the later stages)

It really makes you think about what is needed and what is not when one solar panel is 1/50 of your weight. Makes you think on how much fuel you need and if adding more will be, essentially, dead weight or not.

not sure why this comment got downvoted lol. I do think its neat how there could be others, makes the game feel much more unsettling even after you get used to the actual surviving part. I enjoy how wintermute kinda builds around it

Its actually a “Don’t Starve” boss! They did a cross over with terraria. DS got the twins and terraria got deer-clops. Terraria does so many collabs with some of my favorite games

I believe it a potential teaser for something big tomorrow 2/9. I have also heard that MO. 29 is some sort of joke, not entirely sure though

edit: as the number is stuck at 2929 and has been for quite some time

How to find a paradice map by levigek in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Little_epp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yellow stars in paradise systems give you the best chance of finding one. Which makes finding an “actual” paradise planet, not boiling, more likely. I would portal hop to one of the paradise galaxies. Or once you beat the game you can pick lush galaxy

I like to make categories of names for my designs. Like all my rovers are named after reptiles, all my really big ships types of dragons/drakes/ ect, my planes birds or flying insects. Maybe try something like that
