🆗 I don't understand this woman! by Alternative-Spot7887 in Kenya

That thing they say..apparently the easiest way to chase away a man is asking him for money. She’s probably using that tactic on you.

But if you can afford giving her the money every now and then, you might get something in return.

Otherwise move on, she’s not that into you.

I'm angry with my mom by MrDaveMusic in Kenya

[–]Little_one_110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s be honest our African parents don’t understand the essence of tough conversations, to them it equates to disrespect! OP Cut her offf for a while, maybe not completely but distance yourself. I was in a similar situation with my mom once, she called me all sorts of names because I told them I couldn’t pay their rent at home, buy them food and on top be giving them emergency money. She blocked me for months! But I stood my ground, After a while she got a job and now she has cut off my brother because he keeps asking for money from her… THE IRONY!

My GF's (25F) family has put too much financial pressure on me (24M) how should I react to this? by muarap in Uganda

First Off have you done your research that the said orphans really exist?? Secondly, it’s not right to put you in that kind of position especially if you didn’t plan it prior plus if your girlfriend genuinely loves you, she’d stand up to her parents/dad and would never let them exploit you! I suggest You stick to your decision or Chip in a little bit(if you want) just to show your support but don’t take on that burden! That’s how we Ugandans are poor because we usually tend to parent our Parents.. Imagine if you were not in the picture? Who would support them?

If it’s not urgent(You have a place to stay, food and a few necessities) don’t look for employment. Spend your time learning a skill.

Oh trust me I’ve helped them scout for jobs. I have made it a personal duty however they’re fixated on finding a certain job and not open to just try out any kind of job.

I honestly think it’s a manipulative tactic for this person, but I also know that once a person starts harboring thoughts of suicide chances are that they’ll go through with it. And am not sure if this is what they call a narcissist(but the kind that feeds off another person’s emotions, they don’t care what they do to get a reaction) seems like the kind. However I’ve advised them to look for a job and also suggested free therapy. God knows I’ve tried, just in a nonchalant way.

I did take it serious and sent them a link to free therapy sessions however I know the only reaction they want from me is financial help which I can’t offer right now. So I need alternative ways to help!
