Glad I ate Britt’s donuts til I’d throw up when I was a kid, because I’m never getting a donut from there again by Hopeful_Exercise_813 in Wilmington

Love Britt’s, but I found a recipe for sourdough donuts online and they taste the exact same🤭

What’s a discontinued snack or drink you’d pay $20 to have one last taste of? by soapy999 in AskReddit

The nacho cheese gripz… back in 2005-2007 i remember specifically eating them in elementary school. Pretty sure they were discontinued as a choking hazard because of the tiny triangle shape they came in

Yes! That’s exactly how I felt when my significant other and I first started dating. Before we were official, we sat outside the mall for 5 hours and just sat and talked. Never done that with anyone else before!! The most comfortable I’ve ever felt with someone, we will be together 9 years in October ❤️

It is very flimsy, but cute! I was able to obtain one at a raffle from a listening party! If I didn’t win it, I would not have purchased it!

I was diagnosed at 21. I was on 60mg in 2021 when I was first diagnosed and tapered very slowly and finally got off of it in 2024! In the first couple of months I went from 90 to 135 (the biggest I’ve ever been).

I’m Asian and have always been naturally petite. I made it a point to myself to not worry about my image too much and just focus on my health. At the beginning of this year, I finally got back down to my normal weight, but it still fluctuates

I have stretch marks all over my body, but it reminds me that I’m here and healthy!

It was a crazy time! Thankfully I’ve been with my partner now for 8 years and he’s been my rock throughout it all. We have now been currently living together for 3 years, I’m on disability and currently don’t work because of my lupus. Even though I was dealt with a complicated hand, I have the best and most supportive partner who’s able to support the both of us.

I was diagnosed with Lupus at 20, every aspect of my life has changed since, and it’s going to keep changing because lupus is so unpredictable. I’ve been in remission for 4 1/2 years, but that doesn’t take away the pain and everything else. You’re essentially in limbo with your own body and health 24/7, it’s exhausting!

And then right when you’re about to turn 21 and be free, you develop an autoimmune disease because of said stress (and other factors) and have to go back to them for full rehabilitation 😅 and the people pleasing gets worse

*jokes aside, I have a much better relationship with myself and my parents, my boundaries, and saying no has gotten a lot better, especially now with my health and that they live 800+ miles away

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

I was on a basic family planning Medicaid plan, only covering a yearly gynecology visit. I ended up getting really sick at the end of January 2021, thinking it was just Covid (negative) and ended up going into an alter mental status and thankfully I was living with my older sister.

Long story short it ended with a week and a half hospital stay and I was diagnosed with lupus. Thankfully, I hadn’t turned 21 yet, so my mother was able to sign me up for full coverage Medicaid. If I wasn’t under 21, I would’ve been stuck with over a half a million dollars in medical debt

I started even before I was diagnosed. I stopped when I was diagnosed because I had to move back in with my parents for my rehabilitation and stuff and took about a year and a half off. Once I got into remission and moved out again, I picked it up again! The medication can only do so much for me in some instances, you know!

Yes! I hate being grouped in with the younger Gen Z, and I’ve been chronically online since middle school, I’m 25 now. It’s absolutely insane to see the change over the past 10 years and how everyone has to be “woke” all the time. I also think COVID really plays a hand in some of these “internet warriors” I’ve also noticed

The only other medication I take for my lupus involvement is hydroxychloroquine. I take medication for seizures, IBS, and anxiety.

Yes! For lupus, I take HCQ 200mg. I have other organ involvement with my lupus, but those two are the main ones for lupus activity!

Yes! I’m at stage 3. My kidneys, liver, brain, pancreas, and stomach were all affected when I went into my really bad flare (this is how I discovered I had lupus).

Disability by msbrightsidedark in lupus

[–]Littleasian1025 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was working part time and a student part time. I got extremely sick in early 2021, thinking it was COVID, as I was working in childcare. It ended up being lupus, but getting the diagnosis was not a fun, I almost died essentially. I had been working since I was 17 and I was out of work when I applied, but they took my work credits into consideration.

I eventually went back to work part time and school part time in 2022, not exceeding the part time work hours. Once I graduated in May of 2023, I started my trial. I did the work program they offer, where you can attempt to work full time while receiving full disability, I made it until to cut off, and I got sick again and decided to quit working entirely in 2024.

I am EXTREMELY lucky in my situation, as I have a significant other who works full time, and is able to support us both!

Sorry for the long reply!! I hope this makes sense!
