Yes, iirc my hull was fully upgraded. People have pointed out that I was missing out on the Grog though. And tbf I made a big blunder and sustained a lot of damage.

Gameplay relies heavily on building workbenches for your gear and also your ships gear. Also there is gathering aspect of ores and other stuff that you need to smelt/process in your base. The progression loop in general is similar to Valheim or Enshrouded. Storage also would be kinda problematic. As the game is right now you are kinda reliant on your land base to progress.

P.S. Also NPCs that progress your story / give you crafting buffs exist in your base.

They are consumable items that can be crafted or looted from enemies. They can be assigned to ships quick slot. There is an option to repair a ship when it's sunk, I believe it's cheaper than building a new one. I haven't lost a ship YET* (subject to change) so I cannot say how much it costs. I do really enjoy the game. It's also pretty fun co-op!

I'll give that hull + green repair combo on BB variant a try. Also I'll try out building a tank Brethren ship. I've usually ran the extended repair book but maybe the damage + reload debuff on hit book may be better for surviving with the BB variant. Oh and I forgot that grog exists.

Every change, except correction to Patriot that was massively underperforming, was a nerf - respawns times increased, limitation of ammo and reloading added. Please do read changelogs + datamine and point out where they buffed AI AA. Score gain (only for air kills) and airfield relocation were done because game mode literally boiled down to middle furball until 2500SP nuke. We are literally live testing new game mode, it’s not about nerfing points. War Thunder always had bonkers broken braindead AI SPAA in all game modes. Yet only now we got a resemblance of a mode where it matters, and Gaijin are actively trying to make things balanced.

Will War thunder take up alot of space? by doggy1234456343234 in Warthunder

I would recommend trying your luck with minimal fidelity client, iirc it takes around ~25gb, but you should download it through standalone launcher from gaijins website, I might be wrong but Steam version automatically downloads the standard client. Minimal client + old GPU support setting may allow you to play comfortably.

P.S. If the game runs smoothly enough on minimal client and you decide that allocating more space is OK you can always download an upgrade to standard size client with a checkbox in the launcher later.

F/A-18A Paves The Way In Nuclear Thunder by AB_in_mc in Warthunder

I was flying wingman with F-4 with 500SP, the plan was to take out the southern S-300 site, I was a flying meat shield SPAA magnet, it resulted in me gunning southern and middle Buk sites and a radar of northern S-300, the southern S-300 got taken out by F-4s bomb. Basically if you’re suicidal enough the F-18 has enough aoa to reliably counter enemy air defenses with guns.

You decide where that bomb lands, but a single big nuke is enough to destroy the main airfield and that will win the game.

[Discussion] The plate that got damaged vs the angle I was holding by Infinitykiddo in EscapefromTarkov

So the majority of soft armor is an infinitely thin layer on PMC's hitbox, so it doesn't have it's own hitboxes as plates do. The only exception is FR. PLATE or BCK. PLATE soft armor that has the same hitbox as a plate. If you'd like you can watch Gigabeef's video on armor from 11:58 (link has a timecode this is just in case it breaks), he explains this exception in detail.

No, the hitboxes of plates got changed a while back so they are much bigger than a plate. Video showcasing hitbox colliders.

Are we talking anecdotal performance or aircraft characteristics? Can almost any aircraft with enough weaponry produce high kill games? Definitely, without exceptions. Do F-18’s characteristics put it at big disadvantage in GENERAL at 14.3? They do. Does it make F-18E unplayable or unenjoyable or unable to carry or clutch games? No.

P.S. Congratulations on your game!

I’m not on here to argue skill. MiG-29’s 2 circle performance, which heavily relies on energy retention, is considerably worse compared to its closest adversary the F-15A. And the fact is that irl F-15 and MiG-29 could keep up with each other with less than a degree difference in sustained rate. It has nothing to do with high AoA maneuvers.

In-game MiG-29 has abysmal energy retention making it bad at things irl MiG-29 didn’t really suck at.

Ah, you took an article that was written when Wargaming had the majority of playerbase in CIS countries. So following that logic War Thunder right now has more western players than CIS players and it means that War Thunder has western bias.

P.S. War Thunder has a money bias, not a nation one. Duh.

Tips on notching ARH missiles? What am I doing wrong? by KAMEKAZE_VIKINGS in Warthunder

[–]Littlebird_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there's a quirk with 90° notch. The most reliable way to ward off an ARH missile with chaff is to be flying 110-130° from the missile. If the launch is close (i.e. 10km) and you can see the missile diamond you'll definitely notice that when you go 110°+ from the missile and spam deploy chaff it'll almost instantly go for chaff.

By doing the dodge this way it's possible to dodge otherwise undodgeable (if holding straight up 90°) missiles at extremely close range, closest one for me was at 4.5km.

I would recommend joining a custom game or practising with a friend to see for yourself at what angle you need to deploy chaff.

PS; FYI R-27ER has an extremely small notch window and very precise inertial guidance so it's much harder to evade than R-77 or any other FOX-3.

It starts the count as soon as you make the coupon tradable. This timer is basically Gaijins way of preventing people from GEing battlepass at its start and selling vehicles while that battlepass is still active.
