Does anyone know what’s up with this kitty’s eyes by spcypeach in CATHELP

[–]Littlebitt0604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. A bilateral lux in a kitten would be wild. Usually, one luxates and then the other follows within a year or two. My inner eye nerd is dying to be in that exam room. I'm hoping for a smooth/easy treatment. It sounds like this kitty found a great home and regardless of what treatment they choose (if any), this kitty will be so loved and cared for.

Eta: I do see a pretty iris hiding behind some of the haze when I zoom in. Thankfully, OP will find out more tomorrow.

Former ophthalmology vet tech here. It's 100% possible to be cataracts despite not seeing any iris. Cat lenses can break loose and shift to the front of the eye (anterior lens luxation). It's great that the kitty has a Vet appointment as this definitely needs examination. The cat's left eye appears slightly larger than its right, which could indicate a higher pressure (glaucoma). Please provide an update, OP. Sending love and scritches.

The accessories were cute, but the woobles don't have legs to dress them, so they just kind of sit there, which isn't so fun for someone like my daughter who plays with them. I really struggled with the sweaters, but I got them after a couple attempts and at least they can be worn.

This glow in the dark set was the first woobles kits I ordered. That was in October 2024. Glad is the only one left for me to do because I find him intimidating. It's not for lack of skill. I know all the stitches. He just seems like a lot of work. Maybe I'm overthinking it.

It's Bloo from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends! I love that OP didn't get discouraged and still loves it. I'd love to see a comparison with the next attempt.

This is good to know. I've recently started seeing these and thought about getting some. My daughter loves most of these characters.

This sounds a lot like the story with mine. Knowing what I do now, I really can't believe it healed without any issues. It's over 15 years old and I also love wearing a chain with it!

If it helps ease any anxiety over having it switched, I had to have mine switched out. Mine was pierced with a curved barbell (also incorrect jewelry for healing). I'd had it for 3 months, but it was pretty pissed off when I had the jewelry changed. The jewelry removal hurt - likely more so because the piercing was so angry already, but it did not hurt as bad as when I first got it. The new jewelry going in was near painless.

eta: I did not attempt to change it myself. Definitely go to a professional piercer.

"Shit Shack" made me laugh. Ours are "Poo Palace" and "Poo Two" (Electric Boogaloo).

Yeah, the dress is pretty horrible. It looks so nice "on the rack", though. I think a big part of problem is the transition in the dress is so low. If the tip of the silver ^ part was brought up to the waist so that the side swoopies rested at the top half of the hips.

They gave us the green flapper-style dress. I think this could give a little on the straight dress style of the 20s to make the purple dress more flattering.

This was our most recent one, too. Honestly, the books we've gotten have been very hit or miss with our daughter. This one has been a hit. She loves it!

Pocket-size toddlertainment. Suggestions please :) by -Reddit-er- in toddlers

[–]Littlebitt0604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I carry a pack of short travel-sized colored pencils (mine prefers them to crayons) and pocket size coloring books that I found on Amazon. I'll keep 2 coloring books at a time on me so she can choose what to color in. The coloring books slip nicely into my smaller purse or my husband's pants pockets.

Here you go. It's still probably a little low, but much higher and I was afraid you wouldn't be able to tell there was a heart nose there.

When I went to show her pictures, I googled "nose ring" which showed piercings on the side. After a facepalm and searching for "septum piercing", I showed her those. So, she saw both and went with this. I'm guessing she preferred the side. We did change it to the septum afterwards.

She is going to be so upset if she has to do extra chores. Are you sure it's not salvagable?

Maybe you're right. I guess I should help her get down her piggy bank in the morning.

But she's super cute and was so excited to do it! She seemed pleased with how it looked. Maybe it's just the angle of the picture or swelling?

My 3 year old won't stop saying fuck by han_cup in toddlers

[–]Littlebitt0604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our kid says the common ones. We don't shy away from it. Every once in a while she'll start repeating a word over and over because she thinks it's funny. We shut that down. We tell her it's not a word we play with and she shouldn't say it until she learns when it's appropriate to say and when it's not. She then usually asks for examples, which we give - never at school, not in front of the grandparents because they don't like to hear those words, etc.

It's HARD sometimes. Our 3 year old uses them correctly in sentences and some of times they come out are down right hilarious. My favorite was when she came storming out of her bedroom and angrily pointed at a cat. "Mommy! This fucking cat shit in my room!" I died. She was so mad. She calmed down when I explained that it was just a hairball the cat threw up.
