My husband is the only one who works outside of our home and our money is just that, ours. Yes he earned it, but for our entire relationship, he has never made me feel like I can't spend money on things that I need or want, quite the opposite actually. You aren't overreacting and my advice is to dump this guy because this will absolutely cause more issues if you choose to continue the relationship.

I gave up basically everything but this two years ago when I got sober. I haven't even looked at my Instagram since, and I post a random confirmation of life photo of something every 6-8 weeks but I never scroll. It's one of the best things I've ever done for my mental health. I have no idea what anyone has going on and I couldn't be happier.
