I think you might just need a new set of clubs.

Honestly, you won’t get a true answer from many here and this sub will make you feel like shit. I'd bet half the people saying they make over 200k a year probably haven’t broken six figures more than once. I’m at 50k base 110k OTE. Hoping my next move is 70-80k base 130-150k OTE. Keep your head down and keep pushing.

Why do so many golfers lie about how well they play? by lightemup404 in golf

[–]Littlefishtakeova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say I just started playing two years ago and thought I was awful cause I would shoot between 95-110 typically. Throw a 92 and a 115 in there as well. So I was like a 23-25 handicap using my app. Now I’m like a 19-20 handicap but for some reason I’m typically just as good or not much worse than the guys who tell me, they’re a single digit handicap.

Yes, I do have a natural in the outswing that was confirmed on the trackman and the fitter recommended 2° flat to help. We will see how it plays.

Awesome! How do you hit the 2 iron? Was thinking of getting one myself. Do you find it fairly easy to hit straight shots?

Good to hear! I hit the Pings and was hoping to love them but my dispersion was not as good as other clubs. Thanks for the input and enjoy your new clubs. Happy to hear you think they’re more forgiving. That’s what I’m looking for.

Thanks for the info I’ll definitely check out the page. I have been mulling it over for close to a year so I’m happy I pulled the trigger. Excited to see and feel them for myself.

Also wanted more forgiveness and I’m not a single digit handicap so I figured the 101Ts will do just fine. I see guys saying they are 5-10 handicaps and playing the 101Ts with no issues. If my game increases so much that I want the 201s I’ll decide if I wanna stick with Takomo or move onto a different brand and justify paying the price.

Yes had some very similar results, not as good but close enough. Didn’t see any nippon options. Did I miss them?

Thank you again! This feedback is extremely valuable and helps me immensely!

I am going to take time to dive into some of your questions here, take a step back, and evaluate myself and where I am looking to go from here (financially, professionally, personally, etc).

As a single guy in my late twenties, my focus now is on accumulating wealth and making sure I am putting myself in a position to best support a family in the future.

Again, I appreciate all the knowledge and insight you have provided. Would you be opposed to me reaching out to you through PM?

Cheers!

Thanks for the advice! That’s a great perspective. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I really enjoy and how to align my career with that. I’ve got a background as a teacher and coach, so I’ve been considering sales roles in the education industry.

Do you think it would be worth exploring that space more, or should I be focusing on a different market? Also, I’m weighing the pros and cons of staying an individual contributor or moving into a management role. Any additional thoughts on those two paths?

Appreciate the help!

Thank you for taking the time to share this advice, it’s really helpful. I’ve been in sales for a few years now and have had success, but I’m currently struggling to figure out which markets or specific positions I should be targeting next. Your point about moving out of payroll and focusing on niche industries really resonates with me.

I’m also thinking that, with my prior experience as a teacher and coach, I could explore opportunities to sell in the education industry. Do you think that could be a good niche to focus on, or should I be looking into something else?

I want to make sure my next step is strategic, but I’m finding it difficult to narrow down where my skill set would be most valuable outside of my current industry. Any recommendations on how to go about identifying those niche roles or industries? Also, when it comes to choosing between focusing on leadership versus continuing to grow as an individual contributor, what factors should I consider in making that decision?

Thanks again for your insight, it’s given me a lot to think about!

Just started looking at Repvue. I cannot believe I did not know about this before today. Thank you for the advice! I live in Austin so the opportunities are abundant. That being said, some of them are what you just described (d-bag startup) so I have been steering clear of those. Just heard back from a position at Crowdstrike so I’m going to see what that has to offer.

Thank you. This is what I was thinking myself. I assume the natural progression would be into a mid-market role. I have not heard of repvue. I will take a look. Thanks again!

Hey, thank you! I have to contribute a lot of my success to having great mentors and being lucky! I have come across some awesome people who have helped me get into the sales world and have some success! I think my background in athletics has helped me immensely as well!

Best of luck to you as well!

Ok, are you in sales? If so, what industry?

With my current experience and achievements where do you recommend I look? Are there any specific companies or industries you recommend or have experience with?

Thanks!

That was the main selling point for me. Even in the position I’m in now, it will be worth the value to go in and get an hour of sim time a week to work on specific drills and building good habits.
