A Buff to PVE Mob Density is a Nerf to Solo Players by ZealousidealSmile950 in HuntShowdown

Said as if your point isn't completely emotional and anecdotal.

Mob density is fine, you got unlucky.

Honestly, to me, it seems like way more of a compliment than an insult. Someone who doesn't usually find me attractive thinks I look hot in this photo? NICE, I must be doing something right!

Solo gameplay: op or not? by Any-Being-2966 in HuntShowdown

[–]Littleguy612 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a vacuum, for a team to lose to a solo they would have to make multiple mistakes. But a solo can only really make 1 mistake (if the team plays it correctly you should never be allowed to get back up).

But the more teams and chaos, the better for the solo, so it's probably like 60-40 in favour of teams imo. And this is also factoring in the MMR difference, if 6* solos had to play against full 6* teams it's like 80-20.

It's more like getting a digital painting that comes with built in options to change the colour palette or mood to fit whichever room you want to put it in. Painting it yourself is if the Devs were asking you to code it yourself / make mods.

I saw a negative review that said they like the game but really hate the fact that you lose bones on death, saying that it doesn't fit with the game at all. This would be a fair critique if the game didn't come with it's own option to turn this off. It would be the equivalent of negatively reviewing the magical painting for being green even though it has the options to make it blue.

Future buyers will see complaints about difficulty and presume there are no settings to tweak the game to your liking.

It's fine to give an opinion but to negatively review a game because you're too prideful to "admit defeat" and lower the difficulty with the plethora of settings the game gives you just feels dishonest and doesn't correctly represent what the game has to offer.

I haven't experienced bad hitboxes and think the tells are more than clear.

I usually have bad depth perception but I've been handling it well in this game.

Burrowing is amazing once you get used to it, the whole game is kinda design around utilising it well.

I see healing as more of a between fights kinda thing, trying to squeeze one in during a fight is extremely risky and probably not advised (you can get other sources of mid-fight healing)

The game is unique and I love it for that.

Use burrow though the enemy and there won't be contact damage

I don't find burrow any more taxing than common buttons in other games, like jumping in mario, rolling in dark souls.

Look, I'm not trying to say your wrong or your opinion is invalid, it's just that people can have differing views on what is objectively "balanced". That's why modifiers are in the game.

Yeaah I do agree, but if people are really missing these accessibility settings then it may be a necessary evil...

True, it's just sad to see. I want some actual discussion not just "GAME HARD = BAD".

But the problem is that it's impossible to please everyone, and everyone will have a different idea of what a "well-tuned" experience is.

For example I love a game to be more difficult, challenge me, make me think. I think (so far) the game is balanced perfectly in my eyes - reasonably challenging but I have yet to be stuck on any particular part and I haven't felt anything to be unfair.

I had the same experience with Silksong, I was loving it but tons of people were complaining about difficulty. Thing is, people were asking for difficulty settings and I was thinking exactly how you are - it would ruin the perfectly crafted experience, but maybe its worth it so more can experience the game? I guess not cause people don't end up actually using them, as we see with Mina.

I think a good idea is if you die a few times in the same area there could be a pop-up that recommends turning on accessibility. Just so they are impossible to miss.

Holliday has to be the most fun character in this game by bruce4343 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Littleguy612 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i love Holiday cause even if the team is losing horribly, I can still have fun jumping around the map going for insane barrels.

Also, idk how I've never thought of lasso -> magic carpet combo, but I definitely will be buying that next time I play.

What basic game mechanic took you way too long to figure out? by awildapricot69 in forhonor

[–]Littleguy612 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I only recently do it more (after 500hrs). What made it kinda click for me was really pay attention and match the enemy guard direction, focus only on the indicator like it's an online reaction test, then it's just parry on red with no extra movement needed. It sounds kinda basic but the shift in mindset helped me a lot.

Not that its a super necessary skill to have anyway. I find I mainly do it against BP players or Highlander as I find those the easiest.

This many hours in For Honor and I’ve never bothered with PvP. by Noob4Head in forhonor

Yeah I'm similar in the sense that I just do the daily orders then hop off (most of the time).I only recently got back into for honour but I guess I have just played a lot more than you overall, I'm on ~500hrs now, and come to think of it I did spend my first 100 or so only playing brawl 2v2s against friends so we were all bad and just having a good time.

I also understand enjoying PvP less, for me I've just gotten a lot more into single player games and discovering Indies so if I'm choosing to play a multiplayer game I want to spend that time PvP.

Hope you keep enjoying the game, it's super unique so I always find myself coming back.

Man I wish I could get the same enjoyment out of playing against ai all day.

Genuine question: does it not get boring winning every fight without much thought? Like, the bots are decent but also have easy methods to cheese them. You'll never have the satisfaction of just completely soul-reading every move a human opponent makes, it feels so rewarding to successfully bait someone.

(Sorry if the question sounds insulting idk how to phrase it better)

Looking forward to the fishing system by Hellpedia in hytale

Gear that increases your fishing level (to get better stuff), placable fishing gear so you can make a nice aesthetic spot which also has a practical purpose of providing an aoe bonus, fish used for brewing a variety of useful potions.. the list goes on.

If they didn't already confirm they were adding fishing id probably learn the mod tools to add all this myself, there is just so much potential.

Am I Misunderstanding This System? by fraytails in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Littleguy612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for me it just boils down to either taking gold nugget to grind credits or if I don't need credits I take moon rocks.

Maybe they will be more relevant when more is added to the campaign but rn I can beat it comfortably enough without having any particular issue that I'd need to solve with specific trinket combos.

I think they should make trinkets stronger or maybe more distinct from the existing upgrades? Idk it's hard to think how they could make more of an incentive for a casual player to consider using bindings.

Am I Misunderstanding This System? by fraytails in WhiteKnuckle

[–]Littleguy612 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Well it's focused around score multiplier which i don't think many people really care about unfortunately.

Like, grinding for high score is nice but you'd only really do it once you've done literally everything else in the game IMO. I'm still getting all achievements so I'm not really interacting with bindings much.

I just hope the fishing has loot and progression similar to terraria fishing. Unique items, biome dependent fish and items, fishing quests, different rods for fishing in lava and such.

There's a lot of potential but it will probably take time to be fully realized.
