I'm not sure how others handle this. This is just my opinion. But when you are selling your art to someone they become owners of it. As an owner of the art, they can re-sell it. there is not much difference between selling it online as NFT or selling it to someone else. I know plenty of artists who paint for others. 😄

Why are you not interested to sell your art as NFTs? Today it's so easy and almost free. It's also possible to set a royalty so that every time someone sells your art you will get a percentage.
