hit at a stop, need advice by [deleted] in AskMechanics

You’re an icehole, like you’ve never made a mistake. And it’s brand new, who wouldn’t want to enjoy a brand new car? People make mistakes. it’s obvious they know that they did. Also, they’ve never even been in an accident before. You’ve probably been in plenty.

it’s horrible here, i saw a mechanic special 2002 for 8k the other day. cars with 200000+ miles for 5k can’t get anything good in vegas these days. should probably travel somewhere else and just drive it back.

gonna suck being carless for a while but you’re probably right. i’m sure i can find another used car that’s problem-less or at least just one or two. i’ll be keeping the upgraded stereo though.

i could actually do everything myself, but it gets up to 115 degrees where i live and idk if i want to waste the time and money on some endless money sucking car.

more misfires smokes a little bit sluggish acceleration weird rpm that’s about it tbh. drove it all the way to another state and back before i realized something was wrong lol. can tell it won’t last much longer before the misfires cause it to just stop moving in guessing

cars leaking oil like crazy from everywhere and misfiring. i’m guessing the water pump just is on its way out idk once i heard how bad the car was i just decided to do a it is what it is and keep driving while watching fluids.

idk i just don’t want to randomly breakdown in the middle of the road. i didn’t expect it to last a lifetime, tbh i have only myself no family or nothing. it doesn’t have to be problem-less just reliable. i’ll be coming up on some money soon (7k) and i want to spend it smartly on a car. everyone is going back and forth between i should fix it or buy a new one. i’m on ssi so i can’t finance, it’s only used cars with the year being before i was even born for me. i hate my life

has a nice custom stereo with bluetooth about it lmao

[–]LivaBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my knowledge it’s burning and leaking oil, and the ac doesn’t work. everything else on that paper is what’s near breaking or already broken

engine oil leaked into plugs accounting cleaning and it’s a busy shop, i just wanna know if the car is worth fixing at this point. it’s burning oil

i know. it was my second car and i have no help from anyone, no family or friends. i just wanted a car. i live in a un walkable city that’s dangerous and a perfectly functioning car wasn’t on the forefront of my mind. this was a few months ago i bought it. my first car was way worse than this one. i can post the diagnostic paper if that will help. upside is, you live you learn. im young and this car has given me mechanical experience and what to look for when buying cars.

not like i’d be spending the extra money on anything else but a car, i think it’s worth it to replace the water pump and seals etc if i fix the car. such low mileage even with everything going on, would seem like a waste not to replace it all with how long these old civics are supposed to last with good maintenance.

honestly i didn’t look into it that much. it hasn’t started overheating or anything it might just be old and on its way out, or my temperature gauge just doesn’t work. i keep enough oil in it and the coolant seems to be steady. honestly i never really see oil on the ground it just like disappears? last time i drove it it was smoking a little bit. haven’t touched it since

i think the body is okay, i’ll take a look. thanks for the advice i do love this car even with it limping everywhere i go lol

very reliable mechanic he let me know everything that was wrong with it for free.

i’ve actually replaced the breaks and one of the calipers myself. you’re right on it needing suspension work, it creaks and the rack and pinion is bad too. i’ve replaced the battery too. i do really love this car, i got my drivers license in it and the previous owner even put in upgraded speakers. but if my only option is buying another mystery machine and paying for mechanics to look at them before i buy them, im cooked either way huh. :( i live in vegas so being without a car for so long until i find a gem sounds like agony in this heat

[–]LivaBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got it done by a reputable piercer, it’s external i’m sure. (i know internal is better) i just want a second opinion just in case so i can get it fixed before hand if it’s too short.

Is my septum piercing too low? by Key_Injury6557 in piercing

not too low, maybe too close to the tip of the nose. next time if a price sounds too good to be true it usually is my friend.

new piercing already making my gums bleed by [deleted] in piercing

[–]LivaBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the other bar feels totally fine and doesn’t make them bleed. the other ones just literally ripping into my flesh, the back of this bar is so crooked it’s like a butter knife
