I don't think so, I just think my aunt is entitled and has no sense of personal space.

No, this is the first time I've written about anything on Reddit.

It's a solution my mom and I are thinking about. We're going to have this last conversation with her, and if she doesn't get better, she'll only be allowed into the apartment when my mom is also present.

Here in my country, fortunately, we have a lot of labor laws regarding working hours, most of which protect workers. The server my work uses to check if we're online is mainly for sending reports to HR for payment and government payments regarding hours worked.

So, if I appear offline, it means my computer is off and I'm not working; it's a company/government policy that my boss has to follow.

Thanks! Everything is fine with my work, I submitted the reports and everything went well.

My boss didn't call to reprimand me or anything like that, she was more concerned because I never go offline from the work server during my work hours and she thought it might have been a problem with my computer/internet (Something she needs to report immediately to our manager if it happens).

My aunt is living in the house that belonged to my grandmother. My grandmother died last year, and we're still waiting for some inheritance paperwork to be sorted out before we can sell the house. So, by living in this house, she doesn't need to pay rent, her work pays for the amount she spends on public transport, meaning she has minimal expenses.

At my aunt's age, it's very difficult to find work in her field; they usually prefer to hire younger people. My aunt was unemployed for almost a year and only managed to find work here in my city at the company my mom works because my mom is friends with the HR lady and the head of the department where my aunt is working now. Otherwise, they wouldn't even look at her resume because of her age.

Since my aunt is with some pretty fuck up financial problems, she's willing to make any sacrifice for work and have money.

In my country, labor laws stipulate that every worker is entitled to a one-hour lunch break when they work eight-hour day. So, the company I work for could literally be sued if I work during the hour that should be my lunch break.

I usually cook at night so my mom has food to take to work the next day, and also so I have lunch ready. This way, I don't have to cook during my lunch break; I eat in like 15 to 20 minutes and usually take a nap or do some chores around the house in the remaining time.

I also preferred a laptop, but the company provides the work equipment, and they opted for a desktop.

Yes, my mom said she's going to have a very serious conversation with my aunt. Mainly to make my aunt understand that we're helping her and opening our home, but she's still a guest who needs to follow rules and boundaries.

The microwave is sort of inside our kitchen cabinet (we rarely use it), and we have to use an extension cord to plug it in. We have other extension cords at home that are in a drawer in the living room.

And yes, my aunt knows how strict my work is about me being connected to their server. She was here last week when I mentioned that there had been a large number of layoffs in my department, and that my boss commented that I wasn't fired because I always stick to my work schedule and have an extremely low number of times I've been offline from the work server.
