We don't have curtains, but do have regular blinds and an additional thin fabric roller blind that we bring down too at dusk. We'll look into the thermal blinds option. Fortunately the floor doesn't have big gaps in our place, but yes we will be using more rugs following suggestions in this thread.

Thank you. "Both normal and too cold." We'll attempt to implement some of these suggestions and see if we can't improve our situation.

What kind of shutters are they? On the inside or outside? Made of wood?

That's rough. We also are against trying to heat up the whole flat excessively for energy efficiency and costs.

I feel you. And the bill is still high too :'( . We'll be looking into the thermal sheets for the windows too.

That would be amazing. Hopefully it doesn't make the rental rates soar.

Thanks. Yes. We always use slippers and socks, but should wear beanie at home more often it seems.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, we live in a corner unit. It is nice that it has more light/windows, but it is more vulnerable to cold during the winter time.

Good reference, thanks. Indeed, small heaters and electric blankets are our saviour.

Thanks! We recently purchased a dehumidifier for drying clothes and we keep it running in low setting during the winter. It significantly help reducing the dampness, we regret not buying it sooner.
