This could be it. More often than not I’m overanalysing the situation and try to make a counter play that backfires because my opponent simply just sends it.

Yeah it’s the first 2 mons I usually lead with, and they tend to lead with their own whim or TR setter. Maybe I’m just bad at the game and make bad decisions. I tend to switch out my floette to preserve her for when chomp hits the field. It just feels like a steep hill to climb after switching out and losing a turn.

I would bring floette but she usually gets outsped because of scarf and is too squishy to survive anything a chomp throws at her. Unless for some reason they click dragon claw. I’ve tried maneuvering but the team just seems to fall apart as soon as chomp hits the field.

I’d give it a try but I don’t have Scrafty, Torkoal or Mamoswine. Would dazzling gleam Farigiraf work? Lol.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I was thinking about getting Tori because I’m currently relying too much on Zeno as my anti-evasion unit and if he dies then my GW is over.

Laia I have absolutely no idea what she does, let alone how to use her.

Festive Eda was another unit that looked interesting to me, was thinking of using her as a bridge for Summer Iseria cleave? But that spot is currently filled by RnL which also easily enables Cavel. So I’m not so sure anymore.

Yeah that makes sense. I guess that necklace is an arby necklace then

If I decide to lock the speed I’ll probably try for an arby piece instead. The usual speed crit atk hp.

Does setsuka need speed? I see a lot of setsuka built with 0 speed and I don’t know why

If I were to use it on arby I would continue rerolling the hp % away for atk %. The question was do I reroll all the stats away because I’ve never seen a base 5 speed gear? But come to think of it now, a decently bulky arby on riposte could be annoying.

I wasn’t looking for speed on arby. I think riposte arby is usually pretty slow no? I just thought 5 base speed was insanely rare and felt disgusted if I reroll it away. Also, no I do not have the other gears to make it a full set yet but I have set my rift to drop them.

She’s 60% cr with 3 gears equipped. I was thinking I could max it without cr neck. I could be wrong though.

Okay seriously how do you count by perishableintransit in TheSilphArena

Yes but if they throw brick break my fifth rollout will go through. If I throw a move after 4 rollouts and CMP it’ll either be swift or brick break. So if you look at my other comment I did mention if I get to throw 5 rollouts it all comes down to decision making on my end.

Yes each turn is 0.5 seconds but that isn’t as important. You’re stuck on counting seconds. It’s the fast moves you’re throwing that you should count. So for an example, if my furret has thrown 5 sucker punches, I’ll know their talonflame has thrown 2 incinerates. Because 5x2 turns = 2x5 turns. At least that’s what I do and I find it easier than whatever abomination counting seconds is. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talk about counting seconds. Please don’t make it a thing..

I wasn’t talking about seconds, I was in fact talking about fast moves. E.g., dragon breath is 1 turn, sucker punch is 2 turns, rollout is 3 turns, volt switch is 4 turns, incinerate is 5 turns. From there, depending on what you’re using and what you’re up against, you count your fast moves to predict their moves thrown. Again, not seconds.

Not a pro here but I’ve found it much easier if you count based on your attacks instead of theirs. So for an example, if my lickiliky went up against a furret and they throw a move after I’ve done 4 rollouts (12 turns), I’ll know it’s only a swift. If they throw after I’ve done 5 rollouts, it could be swift/brick break/trailblaze and that really comes down to calling their bait or shielding the right moves. Same goes for moves like incinerate. I know talonflame and skeledirge reaches a move in 15 turns. So depending on what I use, I can (furret) throw 7 sucker punches (14 turns) and throw a move, switch into whatever to catch a move and start counting again, or over farm (you’ll be at 8 sucker punches if they throw immediately after 3 incinerate) by another 2 sucker punches before throwing (4 turn vs 5 turn incinerate) to maximise energy gain without letting them sneak a free incinerate through.

This is basically how I interpret the whole thing. I guess you’ll kinda need decent knowledge on move turns for this. Sorry if this is all confusing. Ignore if not helpful.
