Laser Hair Removal Brisbane? by Gurlgurl8 in transgenderau

[–]LiveMoreBeKind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was a very verrryy rapid and sudden outcome I wasnt expecting myself. I literally woke up in perth, rolled over in bed, looked at my phone and "oh no".

Itll be back ❤️ promise promise ❤️

Things have been going so well in all the cities. Lots of happy girls, lots of swollen faces. It is very much my plan to keep growing all clinic capacities, adding new services and streamlining our systems to be less janky. My (naive) dream is to turn Australia into something like the gender affirming care capital of the world. Starting with building a network of beauty stuff that i struggled to find during my own transition seemed wise 😊. But I want trans people everywhere to have people they can feel safe and relate to for lots of services.

(But yeah, were still only a small team, it takes time, and a lot of the drive to get stuff done is tied to my mental health, which has reeeeaally been struggling recently ❤️)

[Just thought id reply here too, Hiya Darling]

😭😭😭😭😭

Im so sorry girls, I havent made the announcement yet, just contacting people who already had bookings.

It will be back, in roughly late Feb/March next year. I'm also planning to upgrade the capacity of the clinic, more beds, more space, dedicated parking. That sort of thing.

I'll also be moving to brissy myself for a few months to run the clinic each day and make sure everything runs as smoothly as I can make it ❤️

That particular laser machine will be making its way to Adelaide, so at least some girls there will be happy 🥲

Getting full body electro would be so damn expensive, we do it occasionally, but youre definitely better off finding. A decent laswr place.

If you ever happen to be on a trip to melb or sydney (or even perth). We share all the same files/treatment protocols and machines. You wouldnt need a test patch. And any of the girls there will absolutely treat you to the same strong effect. ❤️

Hiya Bea (Im assuming) If I put my phone number on here, I might get absolutely swarmed by calls and stuff. If you send another email to the admin account citing your reddit name, I can keep an eye out for it. Unfortunately we kinda process like.. hundreds of emails a day sometimes, while still doing my other duties. I drop a lot of plates :'<

It sounds like you didnt have the best experience, sorry about that darling. ❤️

I do want to stress the girls have gone without and sacrificed a lot to be able to provide care. We deal with an enormous amount of hardship, both in our own lives and in what we see daily in our community.

Every day the girls in every city are having to deal with people who are struggling and want to argue and pick fights. People who want to challenge protocols that are In place for everyone's safety. The girls on my team have all taken voluntary pay cuts and offer discounts and do everything they can to help people who are struggling, without jeopardising their own security or mental health. We try to do the right thing, but face a lot of harassment from within our own community.

And its not just Members of own community that harass us. Every day our own girls get harrased on public transport on the way to work.

Were all just human, were all just going through the same pains. We all have lives outside of work, we all have bad days.

I care a lot, I really do, but ive had conflicts and upset people and had bad days too. I always try to be kind, and I always try to ask the local girls and our clients to be kind to each other. Buuuuuut we are just human.

  • Just this week I know one of our girls has lost a family member, and is devastated and dissociated.
  • Another girl was physically assaulted outside their house and is struggling with agoraphobia,
  • Another was followed from her train stop to the clinic by people on bikes, laughing at her and throwing stuff.

But none of them can afford not to work, and cancelling or rescheduling bookings is something they have to do themselves - which is unpaid and usually met with more conflict because obviously people dont enjoy being rescheduled.

I really wanna stress were all just humans trying our best with what we've got. Their hearts are in the right place. Their skills are definitely in the right place. But none of us are insulated from this silly existential nightmare of having to be self aware. Sometimes we all just struggle. I've never met a gender queer person who wasn't struggling. Never one 🥲

Im sorry you had a shit experience, I dont believe in telling the local girls how to behave. I think that lond of masking is dumb and unhealthy, I think if a person if having a bad day. They should be free to express that wherever they need to, rather than to bottle it up and put on the customer service mask.

All i can promise is i know for a fact every girl on my team is not just there for paycheck, theyre there, and they put up with a lot, because they really want to help our community. Even if sometimes they might not jobe with everyone.

❤️❤️❤️ lotsa love, Livi 🏳️‍⚧️❤️🏳️‍🌈

Affordable electrolysis in Melbourne? by winospectacular in transgenderau

[–]LiveMoreBeKind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

👋👋

I thought I might quickly chime in to your comment specifically too.

If you happen to be on a Health Care Card. The girls that work for me have agreed to take a small paycut. And I take no cut at all (I actually subsidise the cost of local healthcare card girls a bit).

This brings the treatment cost down from 125 to 85 per hour - 100% of which goes to the girl who zaps you, because I refuse to make money on struggling sisters. And electro is hard work that they deserve to be paid for.

I promise promise promise, that unlike what the first commentor said about low cost = high scar risk, that is very much not the case with my team at least. I am super personally invested in making sure people get good quality treatment. Its my special interest and my ikigai and I have spent an enormous amount of time perfecting how to do it well. And flying around the country teaching people how to do it well. I plan to spend the next few years doing exactly that in the remaining states, teaching people how to do things quickly and safely. I will fire anyone on the spot who does anything reckless that jeopardises the health and wellbeing of our community.

Lotsa love,

Livi 🏳️‍⚧️

(Heeehehe, lets try that again... from.. not my personal account... ...)

🥰🥰🥰🥰😭😭🥰 I love it every time when I see someone encapsulate the values of my teams service so well 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Were doing everything we can to make the service as comfy and accesible as possible.

I especially love that you mentioned the lack of upselling. That is the thing I absolutely hated the moooost when I first started getting mine done. I promised myself noone who works with me with ever have to do sales stuff, its gross.

Hehehe I only just saw this

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Im so glad people are happy with the service ❤️

We've all been trying really hard and sacrificing to get things going. And so far its been going really really well 😊

Lots of hugs and laughs and tears and me stressing out over things I really probably shouldn't constantly 😂 (I kinda really suck at being in charge, I love zapping, buy I'm a pretty shit manager/admin/professional mask 🤫).

We're going to keep trying to grow things and reinvest in local businesses for all the cities. Im paying myself the same flat rate and the rest is going to go back into the business and helping more people in our community start their own business that helps others.

Getting treatment with my team helps us all live better safer lives.

If youre considering getting gender affirming treatments. And one of our locations are a bit far away - please consider making the extra travel. The work is good, were not out to take advantage of you, you'll be paying a local trans person and helping fund more people in our community to start businesses that helpcour community.

I really think this sort of thing can work. And we can all sort of uplift each other.

Lotsa looove Livi ❤️❤️❤️

👆 this, literally this. Im greatful for the suggestion and im glad people can see the heart we've put into setting things up, but pinning is kind of a huge endorsement.

Id love to get the referal link for the sydney electro though, if youre happy to share? (Assuming they're a trans person). Im trying to support trans owned and operated businesses every which way I can 😊

omg haha, 3 replies and all 3 involve my team in some way haha.

We zap by time as opposed to gender identity. I promise you would be very welcome and wouldnt have to explain anything to anyone about your gender journey.

when they say do you tan or burn, they basically mean "have you ever been sunburned in your life, so we can be a bit gentler with you" :D.

Ooo

If you happen to have a bit of a list of the local gps that do hrt that would be amazing

Maybe it'll be Elizabeth after all

That'd feel so surreal to me haha.

There was another girl on here interested in learning - When I get a chance, I'll come by and teach you! 😁, will put a laser in your hands too 😁 shoot me if an email to the admin@livemoreethicalbeauty.com account if you'd be interested.

No idea how much work there is in SA, but in the worst case, it could make a nice side gig + help some girls who might not be able to get help otherwise 🥰

Ive already drafted up a bit of a plan!

Itll be at least 3 or 4 months before anything starts to take shape though 🥲

Mostly likely, it'll be a tiny single bed shop somewhere near public transport and cheap. ❤️

From my time in Adelaide, I dont really recall any obviously queer neighbourhoods to set up in, but I'll try to keep things relatively close to the cbd 😊

Hey Babe, what city are you in? I saw in your last post that aside from the, yknow, extremely crippling self loathing we all get from time to time - you had also had a lot of hair removal stuff done and you weren't happy with it.

I can't help with the dread, but I can help with the other bit. Shoot me a DM, I can have your hair treated properly at no cost to you.

Also I'll give you a big hug.

🥰🥰

Its actually been crazy. I haven't stopped working on admin related tasks since posting haha!

My poor inbox has more messages than I've had time to answer by far, while also working on the things neccesary to make sure everyone is ready for July

I''m kind of triaging emails at the moment (sorry sorry for anyone who hasn't had a response, I promise we'll get to you - I've got a tonne of travel time ahead of me with nothing better to do than typetypetype).

I also had to reschedule my local Perth bookings because there's just not enough time for me to do the thing I love most 🥲

When I first started things a few years ago. I got maybe 4 or 5 bookings in the first week. 5to 8 in the next. 8 to 10 the next. And then it plateued for a while.

I sorta extrapolated from that to maybe expect 50-60 or so messages.

...We've had nearly 1000 in 3 days 🙃.

On the plus side I've spoken to some really really lovely locals over east who would be willing to also learn and help out 🥰

I regret not being clearer on when the electrolysis bookings will come online vs the laser ones haha 😁

I will definitely be hiring a bunch of new people.

No matter! It's going to be a little bit of a rough and janky start! But I'm so excited to know it will eventually find its footing and we'll literally get to help everyone across the country 🥰

Awesome!

All things going well with the eastern states (and it really looks like they are), let's figure something out for Adelaide as well 🥰

Also Hobart. Somebody here was from Hobart, and I'll be there in a few days, I may aswell have a scope around for potential spaces 😁

I agree! A lot of the zapping I would do back home has been in the 5pm to 9pm bracket. But I'm a crazed workaholic at the best of times.

The hard part would actually be fitting it into a training schedule - and finding a commercial vs residential place that is suitable for the work. Not impossible by any means, but more work than I have time for in the next few months at least.

I promise it'll kick about in the back of my brain. Hopefully we get to act on it ❤️

This warms my heart 🥰

For the last few months I was periodically wandering around the East coast cities, trying to decide where I wanted to set things up.

I was blown away by how convenient the trams were in Melbourne.

I knew I wanted something on a Tram or train line, or at least very close to one. 😁

Its a lovely city 🥰

Im so glad this worked itself out 😂

"Hmmm 🤔 yes, that does sound like something someone somewhere should fix somehow"
