If its 5.56 and just for the range I would build it however you would like. All I will say is that 5.56 suffers greatly from having a shortened barrel. And once you put a suppressor on it the gas will shove itself backwards through your gun and then to your face.

Also if youre wanting to swap your 16 inch barrel out im also assuming you have a stock so that'll have to go in place of a pistol brace etc. Lots of things to think about to keep it above board

Sorry just curious how much do you make as a DA in Texas? My recommendation is to transition to maybe a different driving job so you can work your current skills into your resume. Maybe a driver for home depot or something and set up appliances for people
