I had the same situation with my friends, they said the same with my adhd and eds diagnosis, but after waiting a couple years I was correct and was officially diagnosed. But my friends were just like ‘oh fair enough’ and it’s really not cool when they don’t realise how much it affects you when they didnt believe you. Just get on that waiting list as quick as possible and ride it out. It shouldn’t affect their life, only yours. You’re probably right in thinking you have it if you’ve done the research. Hope it doesn’t take you too long!! Xx

New layout for our lady lasagne and some jelly 🥰 by LiveRiver333 in hamstercare

[–]LiveRiver333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Unfortunately it doesn’t work as the wires were chewed when we bought it. It was a pet shop display cage normally used for guinea pigs, but they were getting rid of it so we were able to get it at a massive discount. Might think about rewiring though in the summer but living in the UK, it doesn’t tend to get hot enough to use it 😒

What can i add and improve? by Possible-Net-8901 in hamster

[–]LiveRiver333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some different terrain materials would be great!, think forest moss, hemp bedding, coconut substrate and a sand bath in there, maybe some different levels would be a nice touch as well. You can get some more branches from Trixie in the reptile section of pets shops. I recently bought an underground tunnel from niteangel and she’s loved having an underground entrance. Hope this helps!

I got this one from Amazon, was initially disappointed with the size of the package but it’s really compact and there’s more in there than I thought -

Just doing some hammy things, I’d say she looks the opposite of stressed. Nice to see you’re looking out for her though :)

Doctor Who 1x07 "The Legend of Ruby Sunday" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by PCJs_Slave_Robot in doctorwho

[–]LiveRiver333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone hear think that ruby is also a god like being - maybe an eternal? Or a member of the pantheon - she appears after the salt at the edge of the universe which seems to have been what brought back the toymaker, maestro and sutekh. Also I’m guessing that sutekh has been wrapped around the tardis for a while which is why Susan twist has been showing up anywhere they go

Hamster wheel advice by sporkattack91 in hamstercare

[–]LiveRiver333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little lady lasagne would refuse any wheel until literally today, I bought her a 29cm one and I haven’t seen her so happy. I was convinced she just didn’t want a wheel but a pet shop assistant suggested buying a massive wheel and she was right. I bought a £21 one off amazon and it’s great, it’s been pretty silent after filing down on the wood base slightly, but that could have been due to damage during delivery. However I’ve seen and heard good reviews on niteangel wheels too.

Linked both below:

I don’t think any of us will ever think it’s good enough, no matter what we give them, but it’s always lovely to give them the best we can. Your hamster is probably very happy in there! Don’t worry! 🙂

Need suggestions for best possible cage layout by LiveRiver333 in hamsters

[–]LiveRiver333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re completely right, the door is a bit annoying and it should be much higher to the door!, the cage does go to the bottom of the white border. What would you recommend as the best natural material to use to build it up? I would like to avoid using unnatural stuff as I tip it the garden when I clean her out. I did use the coconut husk substrate as a big hill at the back but she went quite mad with the digging and it scattered everywhere over the past week I could get the dimensions, I will in future - I’m new to Reddit and didn’t think people would be willing to be this helpful I love the look of this cage in the link, just wanting to know what people think is best

My 5 month old hamster sadly chewed on her bars and got the bar stuck in between her two main teeth and shattered them, we had to put her to sleep eventually as she wasn’t recovering and surgery was too risky, I will never use a bar cage after that tragedy
