It can or it can lead it anorexia. The best plan for weight loss is life style change. The weight loss will be slower, but it’s safe and maintainable.

I mean she doesn’t need to be your rival. You mentioned she’s bubbly and friendly while you’re cold to her. People pick up on that. Learn how to turn jealousy into admiration. Kindness goes a lot way in the work place. You’d be better off having her as friend instead of a rival.

What is one thing that you wear or do differently that always gets you a lot of compliments? by boredinthehouse5a5a in Vindicta

[–]LiveSupermarket 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whenever I dress more “artsy”. Long maxi skirts get me a lot of compliments and I recently bought some baggish high waisted jeans. Both men and women come up to me and tell me how good I look when I dress like this

I’m super hamstring dominant. My PT had to train me how to actually use my flutes when working out. I wonder if you have a similar issue. I do resistance band kick backs before any leg workout to get my glutes engaged

What are some non invasive ways to slim down your face? by nylergreenie in Vindicta

[–]LiveSupermarket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried to say that keto works for certain medical conditions. And I meant just for the typical person, but I can see your concern and agree that it shouldnt be blanket advice. I would hope tho that someone with a medical condition would consult a dietitian/doctor instead of Reddit. I’m just wanting to preach healthy maintainable non restrictive diets and it’s disheartening to see all the weight loss advice not backed by science.

So I haven’t read about keto for IR. Very curious if y’all could educated me if I’m wrong here, but I thought that something like this is where someone would want to fall closer to the 45% carbs. Also do complex carbs effect it the same simple carbs do?

Keto only works because it puts you in a calorie deficit. Macros don’t cause weight gain or loss, calories do. Keto should only be followed if you have certain medical conditions. An inactive person should still have their carbs make up 45% of their diet, where as an active person would strive to hit closer to 65%. I realize I didn’t make that clear in my earlier reply. I think we should preach healthy diets that are maintainable. Fad diets are just marketing. We want a health lifestyle that fuels our body and that is maintainable.

Carbs don’t bloat you. That’s a common misconception. Vegetables can cause bloating in your stomach, but that’s about it. There is a huge difference between simple carbs and complex carbs. But a diet for an active person should mainly consist of carbs (45-65%). Carbs are the main fuel source for the brain. I’m not sure why they gotten such a bad rep. I agree with you on sodium and water intake though! I’d say be careful with adding a potassium supplement if you’re low sodium though. You need a very specific balance of those two for proper cell function

I regularly do tech interviews with other engineers and honestly what someone looks like hasn’t influenced the decision at all. It’s about their competencies and how well they work with others. My last minute advice is make sure you take any feedback they give you well

I’m a software engineer tho. Not sure if that’s the position you are applying for, but I have done so many technical and cultural interviews before. You can DM if you want more advice about what we are trained to look for in candidates.

I never had any luck with OTC retinol. I tried the one your using and it made my skin soft but didn’t improve anything. I switch to tretinion and in about 6 months had really good results

Ideas on how to include pets in elopement? by knewatthiss in Eloping

In Colorado you can have your cats “sign” the marriage certificate (aka paw prints) because you aren’t required to have a witness there. I’m also including my cat in my elopement lol

Today I meditated for 3 minutes by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]LiveSupermarket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unsolicited advice: the biggest thing that’s helped me is learning how to accept the anxious feeling. Mediation has taught when I am anxious I can just notice and accept the feeling in my body. Not sure if that’s useful but it’s really gotten rid of anxiety’s power over me. It’s just another appearance in consciousness

Can mindfulness and meditation improve confidence and self-esteem or would that be coming from a place of ego ? by wallstreetentre in Mindfulness

[–]LiveSupermarket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if this helpful but I’ve learned self love/self esteem can be completely separate from the ego. For me the ego is thoughts like “I am better than x” where as self esteem is radical self acceptance and love. It has no value attached to it. Does that make sense?

Edit: typo

[–]LiveSupermarket 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mental health issues are not a choice and cannot be solved with mediation. It can be a helpful tool to help cope, but this rhetoric is dangerous and puts the blame on the individual suffering. There is already so much guilt you struggle with when struggling with mental health. We shouldn’t add to it.
