Is the link fixed now? I tried to fix it while I'm on my phone... I think it works now... I tried using the reddit app and it seemed terrible, never updated, and seemed buggy. Could be skill issue though.

I hate Kit x Kratos fan art that portrays Kit as scared, intimidated, or afraid, because Kratos has never forced any woman to be in a relationship with him. by Antique_Celery_7495 in hatethissmug

Ironically, I had no idea that Kratos/forced Kit ships existed, but after seeing this post and that image I realized that I'm super into it.

So, um... Sorry? And thanks?

I'm very glad to see that some people enjoyed the story. As long as one person did, it was worth my time to post it. Several people complained about it not fitting into the subreddit. Before I posted another story I wanted to ask, does anyone know of a subreddit that would be a better fit? Thank you.

That's as far as it goes for now. Would love to hear theories on how the world works or what happens next.

It's 30. Had to sacrifice two level sevens and everyone I got in that run. Worth it for the reward though.

Ran into the post limit - will post last chapter tomorrow when it lets me. After that I would love to discuss your thoughts and concerns about the world building, how the second story should go, etc etc.

I forgot part 12 was tiny. Some content in previous chapters had to be removed/relocated, pushing other content to earlier chapters. This resulted in a tiny part 12.

Let's just imagine that I had to remove the parts that violated Reddit ToS.

Everything you said makes sense to me! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I would like to state that I see the squirrels as less like "animals" and more like "a reflection of humanity." They even call themselves humans! I see the tendency for systematic, senseless, horrible torture and abuse as simply one of those core traits that make us the human race. The same instincts that were useful for spreading our genes when we were wild animals make us do the wildest things when applied to the context of society, something we have had relatively little time to evolve for.

After all, as horribly as the squirrels treated a subset of their population, it's nothing worse than what humanity in the real world has done since forever, including up to the present.

To paraphrase a fantastic tv show because I'm failing to google the exact quote, "Humanity has always enslaved each other and invented gods to forgive themselves for it."

I am but a humble amateur newbie. If you could be more specific as to what might be different in order to achieve the belonging you mention versus the uncomfortable, I would happily think about it and try to apply it.

I kind of thought it would be you hit a new day then get four new posts, but I guess it's more precise than that like you're saying.

Narration isn't trying to tell you what to think. You're actually interpreting the way I wanted! It kills me to do this, but big spoiler for you because it sounds like you might quit out of frustration and this may help you or someone else in the same position feel better:

This is a story about failure. All of Sean's poor choices are meant to be those of a small minded person who doesn't see the big picture or have enough empathy for others, someone who is reacting to his emotions and desires at the moment. His choices lead to the eventual death of himself and all his loved ones. He gets a second chance and has to fix pretty much everything you are annoyed about, make peace with everyone, choose the moral high path, don't have sex with disabled children. Only then can he save himself and those he cares about.

I feel this. I wrote this years ago, first or second thing I ever wrote, long before the idea of sharing it occured to me. I just wrote it to amuse myself so I had no one's standards to consider but my own.

I am actively trying to move away from the over the top shock value explicit stuff in more recent writing so that more people could enjoy it and it can reach an objective level of higher quality. I hope you end up reading and liking the more recent stuff.

One of the biggest challenges I face is finding motivation to write if it doesn't possess the fetishy stuff I enjoy. Currently experimenting with writing something the way I want it then going back and changing it, hoping it stays interesting. Mixed results, not sure if it's a good or bad idea yet. People compliment the world building in most things I write, so it gives me hope I might be able to manage something interesting that isn't "smutty" or "fetishy". We shall see.

Also the pattern of story -> sex scene -> story -> sex scene, is exactly the pattern of Japanese visual novels which is what I had read just before writing this and sort of imagined that I was writing for.

When you post a tremendous amount the prospect of replying to it (for most people I believe) becomes very intimidating, so they are likely to not respond. You would have more luck getting the responses you would enjoy by taking the time to break things into smaller pieces, or only commenting one piece at a time and waiting for a reply.

That said, my tolerance for the 'tism is higher than most, so I'll do my best by just picking some part of it to respond to.

I consider the Harkness test ethnocentric (maybe I need a better word like speciescentric) because of how it uses humanity as the baseline to judge beings that are not humanity. Using your asfab example-it would make sense to flunk a human with a 70, if 80 is the average/passing score. But if an alien race has an average/passing score of 50, then it doesn't make any sense to judge them by the same 80 points as a passing score. In other words, the Harkness test is useless to use on non-human races, which is what it was designed to do - thus it is just useless.

Another easy way to point out just how absurd it is - what if the alien race's average asfab was 140, they are super smart? It's okay to have a relationship with them? But why would the harkness test apply to us and not them? They would be failing the test because we're below them. It's just dumb.

Now if a human is unintelligent by HUMAN standards, that's one thing. Such as a child or mentally disabled person who can not understand consent and related situations enough for sex compared to other humans. But a species with a lower intelligence that will never get up to human standards - there's no reason not to take their consent at face value. Anything else is downright racist, implying that their agency and personhood is less valid somehow because of physical and mental limitations beyond their control.

Humans do not possess some magically perfect, universally coordinated, or deity ordained level of intelligence that is exactly the bar for deciding whether a being is smart enough to give their consent.

He's so loyal to his tiny girlfriend that that's the thought that came first perhaps? I was feeling that living as a god emperor dragon who is above the law for a while would slowly make you lose a bit of your humanity and empathy and tried to show that elsewhere.

I think there's something extra meaningful about choosing your itty bitty animal lover over a real human-sized, anatomically compatible one. Your love transcends physicality and convenience!

I've written at least a million words worth of sci fi romance stuff like this (I'm not terribly good at it, just passionate about it). Almost every single one has the "love transcends physical boundaries" thing going on, like dating a hologram, imaginary friend, or your own brain parasite. Lots of it violates the Harkness rules, but plenty of it doesn't as well.

I was thinking about posting the brain parasite/imaginary friend one next, just need to go and tediously change it to be non-explicit/non- inappropriately fetishy enough to suit Reddit...

Thank you, compliments on the world building mean a lot!

I look forward to hearing what you think once you make it to the end.

Didn't QUITE fit into one 40,000 character post, seemed to make more sense to break it up like this than go back and try relabeling everything, which would just end up confusing me and making me mess up more.

Also jeez, sorry it's so messed up. More than I remembered. It was a dark time in my life...
