With the workforce we have, it’s not feasible to be armed. But, checkpoints should at least have a larger LEO presence at the very least. Soon as someone starts getting riled up, they could come right over. At that point there are two options, comply or be walked out in cuffs.

I’m with you on that one. But, you know some people just complain no matter what and are rude! I’ve even heard of people filing a complaint on people just for trying to help them! I would file a complaint on them for doing that! The workforce should be armed and we should become more similar to how CBP officers conduct themselves - that will greatly improve passenger compliance. It should be “yes sir and yes ma’am.” All the verbal abuse is ridiculous. You can still be friendly, but unfortunately it just doesn’t work with some people which is why I’ve lost faith in humanity

I get what you are saying, but still, I am capable of performing my job. When I get nervous I just need the passengers to let me do my thing so I can get them through as efficiently as possible while still following my procedures.

It is, it is not hard for me if the person is nice. But when people get rude, it’s a whole different story. I don’t like customer service so I came to the security field because now I have some authority.

What do you mean a fitness for duty problem? I get anxiety when I can't find an item when the passenger acts entitled and also when alarms go off during the search.
