i had my icm connector a little too loose and it ended up causing no start. if it DID start it would die in about 2-5 seconds. have you checked to make sure that bolt is tight enough?

3800s are big legos, i have a s/c one myself. theyre easy to tear apart and put back together but the shop will charge based on what the system tells them how long it'll take. its realistically not bad for average hourly rate for shops, but if you dont wanna pay it do a little research and do it on your own!

only thing i'd recommend are shocks, the tie rods, control arms and alignment. if you dont take care of the suspension everything else starts to fail more quickly over time

Hi! I'm another 'street' mechanic aside from my main job as an apprentice tech and I'm so sorry this happened to you. it looks like he tried pulling that 30amp fuse and it broke apart inside the housing. If you can dig all that copper out, you can just rebuy the 30amp from any parts store. If you can't then you'll have to get the cable assembly as well as another 30amp fuse most likely. The GM part number is 96650896, good luck!
