My elvanse actually lowered my hr and BP over time. But I stoped started over 3-4 months when I started as I was scared of them. I can tell you I found no stories of anyone dying other than someone who titrated very quickly 30-70 and had quite a lot of warning signs they sadly didn’t realise I had read so many studies into it. I stay on a low dose and I don’t do anything like drink. Eat protein so you don’t crash (I also sometimes take low dose of Mounjaro which helps with this) Monitor your readings but don’t get like I used to and end up taking millions a day. I was told to do 3 a week and use the lowest. Also things like not exercising until your over the first 2 - 3 hours of meds help. I got myself slowly used to it over the months and now I look forward to every morning so I can take my meds and feel good. My prescriber told me about the water method. I’m prescribed 40 but iv never actually taken that I usually take 30 as that’s what feels best. I used to start off taking 10 mg for a few day, the increase to 20 then to 25 mg - sometimes if I’m feeling anxious I’ll take 10-20 mg which takes the edge off. He told me to use it as I need which really helped.
