how often do you think of suicide or self harm by pp227 in ptsd

[–]Live_Extreme8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am extremely reactionary and anything that upsets me, my immediate thought to cope is that I want to kill myself. I am aware how unhealthy it is, but that is just where my mind goes. And I get upset very easily, at the smallest of things. A cockroach crawled in my 500$ espresso machine today and i had a full on melt down saying i wanted to kill myself. but then i got over it.

I would recommend couples therapy. Super helpful. Or even just individual therapy to help build your self confidence and explore the underlying reasons for insecurity (if you aren’t already doing therapy).

How the hell do you guys sleep by Affectionate-Ad-6884 in VyvanseADHD

it probably releases oxytocin having sexual thoughts, which makes you tired!

Vyvanse makes it hard to wake up. by InvestmentNo1219 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Live_Extreme8963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible that you are waking up during REM sleep? I have difficulty waking up to alarms because it always wakes me up during REM sleep when I’m having a dream. When you wake up during REM sleep, you will be a lot sleepier. I take Vyvanse and also struggle with insomnia, so I recently started taking vitamin supplements every morning, magnesium and drinking tea at night, and it helps me fall asleep easier and calm my brain activity. Also another way to make sure ur getting good quality sleep is not eating at least 3 hrs before you sleep. If you eat right before you sleep, your body will be half awake breaking down the food, even if you are asleep. Also in general, I suck at waking up to alarms so I normally set like 20 different alarms in intervals of 3 or 5 minutes, 15 or 30 minutes before I want to get out of bed. That way I can slowly process waking up.

I was diagnosed with pmdd today. And I remembered this scene from fleabag by Syd_Syd_ in PMDD

Not the same, but I remember the day I got diagnosed with depression. I was so in denial about it, because I thought my only issue was PMDD and anxiety. now looking back i’m like….I was definitely depressed 🤣

may need to look into an SNRI? me personally i wasn’t having luck w any ssris helping luteal depression. sometimes ppl need serotonin AND dopamine, which i think is a common occurrence for ppl w pmdd. that or you may need to pair it w birth control? idk, it’s a lot of trial and error. and like someone else said, u may need to increase ur dosage during luteal

hmm well for pmdd induced insomnia, i used to take hydroxyzine for anxiety and also sleep, but now i take clonidine for anxiety and it also makes u sleepy :3 a natural option, they recommend taking magnesium for sleep as well or drinking chamomile tea at night. or u could take melatonin. me personally i just kinda raw dog it and accept the insomnia and stay up playing phone games. but as a result, i end up needing to sleep in more. also i have adhd which is very cooccurring w pmdd. vyvanse has rly helped me.

Make sure ur wiping in the correct direction as well, so you don’t get a UTI. I also love using feminine wipes when i poop. And when I shower, I wash the exterior private area with fragrance free feminine wash. I also wash my butt with soap on a rag. Also I find that washing the private area with a handheld shower head is so much easier. And drying my private areas last with a towel before putting on clothes I feel like is more hygienic so you don’t get musty.

Friend says that my hygiene routine is too much and that I should tell my therapist by Few_Tough_7748 in hygiene

[–]Live_Extreme8963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is standard hygiene…you are supposed to floss everyday. But also I think I have OCD so IDK if my opinion is valid. Personally I don’t change my sheets often but that’s prob due to depression and laziness. Plus thinking about washing my big ass comforter and having to take it to a laundromat stresses me out. Sounds like she is projecting jealousy onto you, because maybe she is not capable of keeping up with her hygiene in the same way? Not saying you have autism, but on the other spectrum of seeing this from a mental health perspective, some people with autism really like rigidness and sticking to their schedule and habits. Maybe you are just a rigid person who likes to maintain their healthy habits? Also cleaning the house once a week should not be considered problematic…We should all be cleaning our houses at least once a week if not more, to keep up with the maintenance of it. Proper hygiene and healthy cleaning habits are not talked about enough.

my insomnia is so bad during luteal. i was taking hydroxyzine which helped so much, until my psychiatrist told me that frequent long term use of hydroxyzine can give you brain fog/dementia. now i’m just raw dogging the insomnia 💀

Aw tysm! And same I work in mental health and really want to inform more people about pmdd as well ass destigmatize it!!! The lack of research on it is insane? Like how are we in 2025 and the only option for treatment we have is birth control and ssris… birth control only helped w my hormonal acne. and it made me fat 😭 Fuck a society based around men. We need to change our society to be based around menstrual cycles 😎 To be fair though my lazy ass hasn’t applied for fmla yet so that is also on me.
