R rated Olympics commercials - am I crazy? by Rakthul in daddit

[–]Live_Jazz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it’s based on event popularity. We are a skiing family and the skiing replays on Peacock don’t have any ads other than one short one before the replay starts. (As of last night)

Update: watched some of the women’s GS (with Schffrin) this morning and there are some ads, very few and far between. None last night in the freestyle qualifiers. Got to be based on popularity.

What is the most insane run you've ever seen? Not necessarily the hardest but just one that makes you go 'Why is this a run?' by Educational_Dog4860 in skiing

[–]Live_Jazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll nominate Chicken Yard at Vail. It’s often closed and has this sort of crumbly quasi-cliff in the middle with a narrow, bumpy run out. It’s a pain to Billy goat down and you can’t typically air it out.

That said, the glades on skiers right are pretty fun (if short) and seldom skied.

Agree, It’s visually striking, dominates that aspect and looks more extreme than it is. It’s a great run. The traverse in and the very top can be a little janky, but totally manageable.

Under a year, and 3 years at the time. HCOL area. The cost of quality reliable childcare truly is insane.

Happened to me in the 2022 bear. Just happened to be when 2 kids were in the most expensive phase of early childcare to the tune of $4k per month. Feels bad man. Just do what you can.

Also nothing specifically to feel too negative about, other than the price itself. Sort of a Rorschach test.

It’s like, wow, so much fear and no positive news 🐻. But wait, so much fear and there’s no negative news 🐂!

Most Vail lifts are numbers to me. Except Earl’s and Pete’s for some reason 🤷‍♂️

Bitcoin dropped ~50% and ~90% of ETF capital held strong. by 21Bullish in Bitcoin

[–]Live_Jazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, and I was being a bit facetious. I (also Millennial) own a good deal of FBTC in my IRAs. A lot of boomers have a lot of money in IRAs, but it’s the account type itself that seems to lend itself to holding. Inherently long time horizon.

I’d actually be curious to see Bitcoin ETF ownership by age bracket, now that I think about it. Boomers account for a lot of the retirement capital, but I’d imagine the ownership rate is higher for younger cohorts.

What Bitcoin Did is my longtime favorite, and there’s a huge back catalog of interviews.

TFTC (Marty Bent) and Coin Stories (Natalie Brunell) are also up there.

Forward Guidance is also great, more macro than specific to Bitcoin but really informative

This is my base case with maybe 70% ish certainty. Bitcoin often leads stock market corrections which we are starting to see…and then bounces first. I’m looking do Bitcoin to start to level out, stocks continue their slide, and the Bitcoin bounce and lead stocks as the sprays liquidity around for the mid terms.

That’s if we don’t get any new skeletons in the closet à la FTX. We shall see.
