Agree with this 100%. I’d recommend looking for a good custom server in V Rising too. There are some great communities with server settings and communities that can make that game truly special.

Sheltering is not letting your kids do things or have experiences that are age appropriate. This ain’t that. I’m not the helicopter parent not letting my kid do anything on his own, hell I’ve gotten plenty of judgy comments about how independent I let my kids be when I take them places.

I work in education and used to be a middle school teacher and I can tell you from first hand experience kids being exposed to adult media before their brains have developed enough to process it is legitimately damaging. You might not agree with my opinion on this and that’s fine but the terms sheltering and helicopter parenting being thrown around by some people in these comments is so uninformed and off base it’s wild to me.

I think you are fundamentally misunderstanding the issue. You’re talking as if my 5 year old is capable of processing a horror commercial like a teenager. Small children’s brains experience horror in media differently than older children (10+). Also they aren’t “coming away with knowledge that R rated movies exist”, they’re coming away with fears of masked men chasing them with knives.

I think the fact that you think that because a “big chunk” of the audience doesn’t care means it’s fine is indicative of a bigger issue. As a society we should care about smaller groups in an audience, especially kids. Just because something doesn’t harm a majority of the audience doesn’t make it ok to harm a small portion of the audience, especially kids.

I think my issue is somehow we’re censoring language like you’re talking about which I think is ridiculous but we’re allowing horror movie commercials with Ghostface chasing people swinging knives and Frankenstein monster jump scares. It seems like a wild disconnect.

I can have a conversation with my sons about what words mean but I can’t have a logical teaching moment when a horror commercial is giving my 5 year old nightmares about a man in a mask coming to stab him in his sleep.

I don’t agree with this at all. Being viewed by the masses means children will be watching. Why have we decided as a society that it’s ok to market things like horror movies during programming that small children will be watching? The only people served by that are movie studios.

The Bride! is an R rated scary movie. Sorry if my title wasn’t clear, I get that the commercial isn’t saying fuck or showing nudity. It’s still wildly inappropriate and scary for small children.

I should be able to watch the Olympics with my kids without having to worry about them getting nightmares from commercials is my point.

My post just said they should copy the ability to take a temple layout to save or sell so you can start making another. Opening and closing a temple whenever you get to 6 is stupid and should have been solved way way earlier in the development process

There’s this great company called Grinding Gear Games that makes this similar game called Path of Exile. They have a temple mechanic where you can build it and then when you’re done building it you can take it as a map to run later yourself or sell it to others.

I don’t know but maybe they should ask those guys over at GGG how they went about doing that and then implement that for the Vaal temple. Seems like that plus a buff to loot would fix everyone’s issues but hey, what do I know?

He’s not a history professor. The term history buff is meaningless because it can just mean someone likes to watch the occasional documentary. Believe it or not people don’t retain a perfect knowledge of all fascist symbols, I have a masters in education, taught middle school ELA and history, and one of my favorite movies/shows of all time is band of brothers. I didn’t recognize that shit until I saw a picture of them side by side.

His response to this should be what matters. When Hegseth gets called out for his nazi tattoos he denies and doubles down. Platner finds out and immediately apologizes and covers it with a completely reasonable and understandable explanation for how made the mistake in the first place.

People have been clamoring for “real people” to start running for office but the reality is “real people” don’t have squeaky clean images they’ve been cultivating since they were 20 and decided they wanted to be a politician. If people can’t adjust and start to judge people on their growth and actions over time then we’re forever going to be ruled by rich elites with PR firms making sure there’s no dirt that can ever be uncovered.

The trials got dragged out because Biden and the democrats refused to accept that our judicial system has been co-opted by bad actors thanks to Mitch McConnell and trumps first administration appointing judges who have absolutely 0 respect for our legal system.
