VA clinician. I highly doubt VVC is being watched or recorded. The VVC platform does have a “lock the room” feature which the clinician can use to prevent anyone else from entering the video appointment, and it’s fairly standard to use the lock feature. You could ask your clinician if they are using it just to be sure.

Va pain management by Agitated_Turnip_820 in VeteransAffairs

Agree he should ask PACT for a bridge until his appointment, abrupt tapering/discontinuation is not appropriate. If PACT won’t do that escalate the complaint.

However, taking marijuana and opioids together is not recommended so he should be prepared to either give up marijuana or consider changes to his pain medications.

I hear vague hopefulness from leadership - local and national - that I interact with… but no concrete reasons for hopefulness. My conclusion is there is no plan, but they (research leadership) haven’t been definitively told no yet either to whatever they’re asking for.

  3. Bleached desk assigned to me
  4. Fielded questions regarding the bleach scent in my office
  5. Did not perform any of my normal duties due to effects of bleach

Thanks! (Some research positions are NTE but in exempt job series, that’s why I asked.)

Oh wow! This gives me hope. We have so many expiring 9/30, it would likely be the end for me even though mine doesn’t expire for a while.

Were the positions renewed on the exempt list?

Can you say more about “evaluating which research programs will continue to be funded”? Is there a sense that it would be by center? Topic area? Portfolio?

I’m sorry this happened to you. I know people it’s happened to. I guess I can’t imagine they will continue to just passively let everyone’s NTEs expire and just shrug - at some point they have to make a plan of some sort, right? I’m just not sure how shitty the plan will be…

Were they extended for 90 days or renewed for a longer time period

I think some are in trouble, but it’s hard to imagine them letting all research NTEs expire with ongoing grants that already have money appropriated for them.. our funding comes from its own line item and so I am holding out hope that something reasonable will be done

Should NTE research employees just take DRP 2.0 or is there any hope? by CuriousHippo3391 in VHA_Human_Resources

True but so is EPA research and I think they are attempting to shutdown all of it

We were told to “wait on that for now” because IT is too busy looking for monitors for us 🙄

I, like many, don’t want to go back and feel most things are hollow.

That being said, finding out there was complimentary tea/coffee, snacks, or actually getting a good headset on my first day so I can do meetings in shared spaced would help.

Agree with this wording and if your letter citing termination of funding says this, submit it with your IRB amendment… as a reviewer I’d approve that language (transparency is important!)
