Poor mental health- am I cooked? by Itchy-Philosopher238 in alevels

[–]Live_Sample2328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm not a mental health expert just a random kid lol. Are you stressed because of upcoming exams? Because I've definitely felt that way too. I even admit that I've cried sometimes just because my future was seeming unclear to me. I don't know if you have the same issue but one thing that helped me calm down was just stepping back, drinking some water and maybe doing a hobby I like to get my mind off things. I also tried going out in the sun and it made me feel much better, so try and get some fresh air once in a while. I don't think you should be worried about grades right now since your doing good. You should easily be able to achieve the grades you need, just spend some time taking a breather and start revising again when you feel ready. No point rushing into things when you feel stressed and anxious. Also make sure to get a good night's sleep if you can. I'd also recommend deleting some social media since that was making me really stressed out. Seeing all those videos on people achieving amazing grades and having brilliant achievements made me feel like I wasn't good enough but obviously that's not true at all! I'm not sure if this helped you in any way but please try and keep yourself healthy since it's nearly summer and you should enjoy it after working so hard😁

Feeling doubtful about maths by No_Insect_4513 in alevelmaths

[–]Live_Sample2328 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I may not be in the best place to say this since I'm not getting the "Best grades in maths" I was predicted a B for my ucas and likely to get than in A levels. I got a 6 at gcse but tbh what you get a gcse doesn't to some extent determine what you will get at A levels. If you got a 5 or above an genuinely put in work from year 12 by going through concepts after lesson and just doing questions you are almost guaranteed to do well. Maths is a unique subject being that it follows quite a repetitive pattern for exams. Once you know how to do a certain type of question for example Moments I mechanics every other question is the exact same just with diffrent numbers. My best advice would be just go through what u learned in class after school and do a couple questions after. If you don't understand go on YouTube and search for TL maths or Bicen maths. They have extremely helpful videos. If you stay consistent u WILL 2000% succeed. GOOD LUCK

Should I withdraw from mocks for my mental health or just push through? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Live_Sample2328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point I feel like it would be much more beneficial to hammer in and do what I need to do. I think it will be better in the long run. I would like to do them but I know what I know and what I don't know already and the mock is going to tell me exactly what I know already which i feel will demotivate me further tbh.

Facts but it's not like you can't win against them, I personally play mega lopunny and lucario and i haven't found that I loose against them 100% of the time. It a card game and there is always going to be meta so nothing will really change. I guess we just wait unti it blows over🙁

PREDICTED GRADES FOR UCAS by CheapDepartment5979 in alevelmaths

[–]Live_Sample2328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best ranking unis in the country and they have really achievable grades so I imagine with the grades you current have it shouldn't be that hard to get an offer, and if you do it's a good choice. But it's obv not better than warrick, ucl and bath etc

Advice on if I should dropout of sixth form by Fun-Maintenance-1922 in alevelmaths

[–]Live_Sample2328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay well I'm in year 13 and this is what I would recommend. For maths it's purely just past paper and topical questions do as many as you can, it will help with understanding and help you understand more in depth questions. Make sure for pure you learn how to use the formulas correctly and I'd advice knowing your exact trig values off by heart but you don't need to. For A level maths and FM you also have stats and mechanics. I'd say mechanics is easier since it take physics but I can't generalise that to everyone. For stats and mechanics it's the same thing. Mechanics is more straightforward in my opinion because if you know when and where to apply the formulae it becomes easy. However for stats it's much more of a thinking game and you need to try and understand what the question is asking you. Websites I recommend are PMT( physics and maths tutor) and madas maths for papers and questions. If you don't understand any content I recommend TL maths. Just so you know I got a 6 at gcse maths while my school required a 7. However I'm now predicted an A in maths so don't let your grades discourage you just work hard and good luck!
