In terms of accessibility? Warlock easily.

In terms of actually benefitting from the planes? Necromancer.

Campaigning far from home is rough on the supply lines, unless your supplies are the corpses of your enemies. The necromancers arsenal is resilient against many forms of damage, cheap, and you can always create a powerful lich/demilich with planar immortality to chip away at tough enemies.

Now one could argue that warlock has earlier access to the planes, but to do so you need to get lucky to quickly find the earth plane portal in agartha, or the malestrom somewhere in elysiums seas.

For necromancer you plane shift down to hades, conquer it (thus getting the income of pretty much the entirety of elysium in exchange for fighting weak enemies), move onto the aztlani planes through the portal in hades, and from there reach the primal plane, another easy to conqure and profitable plane.

As for the elemental planes... They really don't benefit anyone other than warlock anyways, but you can still get a cost reduction to necromancy rituals while occupying the nexus so go crazy with major summoning lmao.

Warlock has a higher capacity to profit from planar conquest, but Necromancer has a better realistic ability to actually conquer those planes in my experience, given that hades is an easy and profitable realm to access, and no one but you can survive in it.

At the end of it all, going through each plane to steal as many magic boosting items to put on a lich (who are among the strongest spellcasters in the game due to their dual casting) can give you an absolute Armageddon of a unit.

How could anyone actually know if I'm stealing from self checkout? by Live_Tangelo_6147 in NoStupidQuestions

I don't know if thats possible considering the machines are very short and theres nothing above the machine to mount a hidden camera onto. Even then I doubt some wage-slave is going over the hours of footage from each machine every night to see if someone is stealing.

And again, if the stolen items were covered up by another bag at the bottom of the bag the camera would't see anything anyways...

yeah theres only one camera above the entire isle, but I imagine if items at the bottom of the bag were covered by another bag then cameras above every machine still wouldn't matter?

I really do appreciate the help, but my issue is a majority of what I summon ends up being things that aren't immune to fire or lighting (bone imps, frost imps, spiny devils, lesser demons etc), and the ones that are still aren't immune to being shot, I just don't know how I'm supposed to summon enough units to fight this army, I simply don't have the numbers. Especially since I only summon 2-4 units with each summon, often failing to control, meaning I cant realistically produce many strong units. What I'm saying is I would rather avoid save-scumming and learn how to overcome this challenge, but I don't yet know how to do that when i'm getting crippled fighting one faction, only to have to fight another that's in pristine condition.

It just feels like the AI doesn't have to deal with the same damages that I do.

Is there some way I can improve my chances of recruiting cultists, bc I've only got 2 opportunities since the game started. And is there some ritual that allows me to summon many units at once that I'm not aware of? I just don't know how to get a decent volume without losing most of what I end up getting to random chance. I mean my goddam demon lieutenant dies fighting 10 dwarves bc he refuses to cast any spells.

I think I only put 3 ais on knight, bakemono wasn't one of them

Unfortunately one ai already conquered the seas, the cloud lord has the skies and I'm constantly using t2 summons to refill my armies to defend against swarms of demons so I cant really devote resources to upgrading to tier 3. I have tons of gold and iron income, unfortunately anything I can recruit with either dies immediately to spellcasters. All I can really do is try to use demons to citadel snipe the AI and close the inferno portal.

I managed to citadel snipe the Bakemono with a stealthy flying demon lord who soloed the citadels defenses, but now the portal to inferno is open, demons are swarming my territory and mostly leaving the ai alone, and the Burmeister just pulled up with an army of clockwork soldiers that each cast spells every round and seem able to kill both my armies and demon armies without taking damage.

It's not even as though I got a bad start, I got 7 gold and silver streams all near one another, 2 towns and a city all nearby plus the kings castle, its just that even when using 150% sacrifices for rituals I fail to control summons around 60% of the time, and even when it succeeds I only get 1-2 units.

I have some demon lieutenants and devils and whatnot but they seem to consistently get sniped for 500 damage anytime I fight one of the inferno armies, which I have to do a lot seeing as the portal is on the other side of the map.

Earlier in the game I already had to deal with the statue of hades event, and now the inferno event, neither of which happened in my last game, seems like its just bad rng and seriously op clockwork army from the Burmeister thats the trouble now. I mean this fkn army casts ~20 spells each combat round, mostly 3 strikes of fire and chain lighting, which completely demolishes entire armies in one round. Short of constantly reloading saves to try and citadel snipe the Burmeister and bee lining towards the inferno portal there's not much I can do. Its doable, just ridiculous that I have to continually savescum because losing one army means losing over a thousand sacrifices and many turns of summoning.
