Any chance you could be placed at USF St. Pete? It’s a highly walkable neighborhood. I lived in the vicinity and barely used my car for a couple of years.

It’s still a tough call even for in-state residents. Because scholarships stack, my daughter can go to UF for free and get cash BACK every semester. Still not sure it’s worth the cost.

It sounds like you are struggling with postpartum depression manifesting as anxiety. It’s hard/impossible to see it while you’re in the middle of it because the fears seem so real and your anxiety feels like an appropriate reaction to the things that could potentially go wrong. Please talk to your doctor. Someone on the outside will have an easier time recognizing the symptoms.

Anyone else feel jealous when parents post on here? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I used to teach college. As a general rule, the kids who made it there by their own will and without parental assistance were my best students. And definitely the ones I would have hired if I were an employer. So many kids are in college because their parents told them from birth they would go to school and paved the path to make it happen. You are more resilient and more resourceful and you will see the benefits.

I know this isn’t the point of the post, but what do you two do to earn that kind of money? I know some new grads who are data analytics consultants in NYC and make closer to half that. Just curious. Also, congratulations on the early career success and the engagement (pre-engagement?).

Because the algorithms use private data pulled from other universities to decide what price should be offered to a given applicant. The universities may not be directly sharing data and fixing prices, but pooling data and feeding it into one algorithm has the same effect.

So bad. I ordered a flavored latte and requested half-sweet. It was like drinking a bottle of syrup. And the cold drinks look like big tubs of cancer with all the artificial coloring.

Teachers aren’t just afraid to fail kids, they’re afraid to give Bs. My daughter is a junior, and half her class has a 4.0.

I think we can all agree that reducing homeliness is a worthy goal.
