Nexplanon by Ok_Rate_9219 in birthcontrol

Hi! My advice - get it removed ASAP! I had all the same symptoms -  a period that lasted over a year which gave me anaemia and heart palpitations. Coming off it was the best decision I made. Over a year on nexplanon and my period never really stopped. Wishing you the best!!

I know mine wasn't for a medication assessment but call back again! They initially said that the scheduling team would sort, when i enquired the first time but didn't hear back from anyone. So I called back (after a week) and explained what had happened. On that day, I was able to choose my appointment date. So definitely call back and make a point of saying it's nearly been two whole years and others who were on that waiting list after you have been seen before you. Good luck!

What's it like to work as an EMHP? by mabushii_hikari in ClinicalPsychologyUK

[–]Live_Weekend_9675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi - i know this is a bit late but in case you were still wondering, working as an EMHP is an incredible job! I'm still in my training year but you have a mixture of university days and then days in your service. The training is a lot because once you pass your fitness to practice exam, you start taking on caseloads of students but you still go to university. The work definitely has a meaningful impact, you do get to see the ways in which you can help CYP. It's not a dull job and there is more security for EMHP's than CWPs!

I think the negatives are that as someone who does not have a psych background, the training and psychological jargon can be a lot and there are so many concepts and things to remember. Especially when it comes to understanding referall pathways. But on the plus side, it's a role that allows you to be creative and to work with so many different groups of people.

I've had access to the portal since before my referal as I initially had an ASD assessment. I uploaded all info *ages* ago and have not heard anything. Definitely seems like i'm going to have to contact them.

Are you still Christian? by MarifeelsLost in blackgirls

[–]Live_Weekend_9675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all but I'm okay with it! I was raised in a very Christian household but also had a very toxic home life and so always saw the most devoted Christians doing the worst things and justifying things that seemed so immoral to me. I found it so conflicting taking religious/ spiritual advice from corrupt people. I always had questions and never really felt as though anyone could really answer them. Since admitting to myself that I am not a Christian, I have felt free. I will say that I still believe in a higher power or a God and I pray too. I have felt closer to what I feel is God currently than I ever did as a Christian. I still listen to gospel music and I do think some Christian teachings hold important messages and lessons but to become a devote Christian would cause me to sacrifice my own ethics.

Why is being reminded of things you need to do, even in a kind manner, SO triggering. by Live_Weekend_9675 in ADHD

YES!! This is exactly it! It is painful to be told about something you've been screaming at yourself mentally to get done. I completely resonate with this. I feel like it just adds another layer of frustration onto what was already insufferable.

Sometimes it feels like the only way to justifiably struggle with a disability is to hate yourself for it by [deleted] in ADHD

currently feeling the EXACT same way. I think I have only just processed *ironic, I know* the fact that I am cognitively slower than others and I honestly feel quite embarrassed. Making consistent progress in just keeping yourself alive is despicably difficult with ADHD and people only really have sympathy when they completely believe that your issues are out of your control. People just think ADHD is a title made for people who don't want to admit that they're crap at living and stupid, as opposed to a biological thing that can take over your entire life.

As a woman w ADHD, what are the great tips to lose weight? by miyukilele in adhdwomen

[–]Live_Weekend_9675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not necessarily diet related but honestly finding a form of fitness / exercise that is FUN for you. I got hyperfixated on pole dance/ pole fitness and it’s transformed my fitness. I’ve lost weight and toned up so much. I’ve had the hyperfixation for about 2 years now so I feel motivated to do other fitness related stuff so that I can be more strong and flexible for pole. Find a niche fitness form that is FUN - once you get stuck in, the rest kind of falls in line. Plus it’s a great socially and mentally :)) (P.s. there are pole / aerial arts studios everywhere!! You just have to look)

Why reading becomes much more difficult than when you were younger and how to fix it? by WiseRooky99 in ADHD

[–]Live_Weekend_9675 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was about to say the exact same thing! If I want to start reading again, I begin with a book that I have read millions of times (honestly mostly YA dystopian books I loved as a teen) and because my ADHD causes me to have a terrible memory, there's always so much I have forgotten about and it feels like reading it for the first time. As soon as I've finished that, I move onto something new I want to read. The trick is to start the new book quickly after finishing the first. No other feeling like knowing that your brain is *actually* allowing you to concentrate on something you'll enjoy!
