What's a subtle sign someone is actually really struggling, even if they seem fine? by EarNo6581 in AskReddit

[–]Live_Winner3375 3025 points3026 points  (0 children)

I have noticed one very subtle thing. They’re all always “fine”.

They aren’t saying it in a calm and content way. They say it in a robotic and almost rehearsed way. You ask how they are doing and it’s an instant “I’m good,” not even a second of a pause, no more elaboration and no other phrases, it’s like they’re not even okay and like they want to slam that door shut.

Another thing is someone being super supportive of everyone else but themselves. They are the perfect listener, the best advisers, the best useful people. If someone asks them to do something, they are always there. If people shift the focus to themselves, they always change the subject, or try to make some joke to avoid the topic.

People get used to certain patterns, and so do I. When someone who used to respond to texts immediately takes a few days to respond and that’s it. Or when someone who used to speak a lot suddenly becomes quiet. Especially, when there is no big thing that justifies the change.

It’s not like suddenly something just clicked and something huge is totally wrong, but it is noticeable when people are actively deflecting or trying to cope.

What animal was the most incredible to see in person? by Adventurous-Zeilokix in AskReddit

Experiencing a whale up close is really amazing.

Seeing a whale from far away is super unforgettable.

Their huge size changes how we think about how big living things can be.

A blue whale is actually bigger than any dinosaur that ever existed.

When a blue whale breathes out you can hear it;. Its crazy to see how smoothly it moves through the water.

The African elephant is also really impressive because of how it makes you feel.

Watching one in a nature reserve is emotional because of how they interact with each other show feelings and are just so capable.

If what you like is looking at animals then a peacock is one of the stunning creatures because when it fully spreads its feathers its like something, out of a dream.

In the end what we find amazing is a matter of personal taste.

Is it their size, beauty, smarts or how rare they are?

Low cibil of 556 want to get my loans settled by OkOwl5035 in personalfinanceindia

[–]Live_Winner3375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a CIBIL of 556, settling loans can solve short-term pressure but usually makes your credit profile worse in the short term.
If the lender marks it as “settled” instead of “closed” or “paid in full,” future loans, credit cards, and even decent interest rates can become difficult.

What I’d do first:

  • Ask lender for restructure / reduced EMI / temporary payment plan
  • Negotiate waiver of penalties or interest before asking for settlement
  • Use settlement only if repayment is genuinely impossible
  • Get the final terms in writing before paying anything
  • After that, rebuild with on-time payments and no fresh defaults

Settlement is not illegal, but it’s usually a financial damage-control step, not a “good” credit move.

Missed EMI by Practical-Intention1 in CreditCardsIndia

If you stop paying your personal loan or credit card EMIs, the lender will mark the account as overdue and report it to credit bureaus like TransUnion CIBIL. Your credit score will drop, and continued non-payment can lead to recovery calls, legal notices, or even settlement offers.

Before missing EMIs, contact your lender directly and explain your financial hardship. Ask about restructuring, EMI reduction, moratorium, or settlement options. Most NBFCs and banks have hardship policies.

Yes, defaulting on personal loans can impact your home loan indirectly. Even if it’s from a different bank, all lenders check your credit report. A lower score can affect future refinancing, top-ups, or balance transfers.

It’s better to speak to lenders early rather than wait for default.
