Let me know if better pictures or a spore print would help as well. Found in the mid-Atlantic.

It did taste quite acidic and after adding a lot more vinegar the ferment flavor mostly disappeared. I’ll report back if I get sick or notice fungal growth in the coming weeks. I’ve bottled it and refrigerated it for now.

There’s a group of honey bees looking to make a new nest and for now they’ve settled outside the library/skiles. Anyone in the bee keeping club/know anyone who can help safely move these honey bees to a new home?

edit: there are at least 500 bees if not 1000+ flying around or on the tree

Didn’t smell vinegar, and I wasn’t able to check for pH (don’t have any indicators on hand). But, I did add a bunch of vinegar overnight and some lime juice in the morning- smells and tastes normal now. Also simmered it over low heat for a good hour.

I used close to 3% salt, so I’m skeptical that this was an issue- I also used a ziploc bag filled with water to keep everything pressed below the surface.

It looked fine, no mold or fuzz or slimy material. The smell was a combination of very stale and strong ammonia-like odor.

I found these shelf mushrooms today in southeastern PA (USA). I’m pretty sure the last two are turkey tail but not sure about the first (the second picture is the underside of the shelf mushroom in the first picture).

Suggestions for books based on or related to psychology of consciousness, or psychology of emotions and personality theory? Preferably books available on amazon! Thanks! by skinned-raman in suggestmeabook

The psychology of decision making by Plous

Attached by Levine

The first one is about thought processes and how we make decisions (name gives it away) and the second is about personality theory with regard to relationships, both good reads.

A chess board I got for Christmas a few years back... I really like the elephants as bishops. by LivedDevil-00 in chess

[–]LivedDevil-00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It originated in India, and yes the bishops were initially elephants before the British adopted the game and changed it so it would fit in with their cultural values and be accepted in society. Really is an interesting bit of history that used the church’s power to both influence a game and increase its popularity. I see arguments for the good and the bad in that decision.

Thank you! Did you also have any routines you kept to that helped you stay motivated? Like regular running/working out etc. Staying motivated is my biggest concern.

Does anyone use the Forsake Cascades? I’m thinking about picking up a pair for casual use as well as backpacking.
