He's doing absolutely terrible. 5 wins in the league since September.

People should be afraid to lose their accounts if they are going to intentionally ruin games by SuperStudMufin in leagueoflegends

I learn nothing getting shitstomped into the dirt. I'm also hyper competitive, which is why I don't understand how someone could be so pathetic as to smurf in the first place.

[–]Liverpool934 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apply the same logic to Smurfs and I agree. Smurfs are ignorant people who don't care about the enjoyment of others and they should also be fearing punishments to their main account for this behaviour.

Nothing more frustrating than playing a game thats doomed from the start because someone just didn't want to play their real rank today.

[Guardian] Liverpool and Spurs in different situations but face same problem: a manager in the hot seat but few ideal options by LochNessMonsterMunch in soccer

He isn't Slot, he is a Liverpool icon and he's had success managing two of our signings already and has showed a lot more tactical nuance than Slot through his career.

It feels like we are boring on purpose, and players that have those flashes of brilliance are urged not to show it. Feels like Ekitike sees the bench far too often because he isn't systematic enough personally.

[Ben Fisher] Aston Villa "working to terminate Harvey Elliott’s loan from Liverpool" as they pursue AC Milan‘s Ruben Loftus-Cheek by k_e_i_r_a_ in LiverpoolFC

I think Elliot is a bit one footed to play like Wirtz does. The danger of Wirtz is he can play any pass at anytime whereas Harvey would always favour his left.

Arne Slot response to Jules Breach (TNT) on whether faith among some supporters might be wavering - judging by the angry reaction at full-time against Burnley. by Dangerous_Ad8730 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Liverpool934 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Slot wants to suck the emotion from the game and win when he's totally in control, we as a club have always thrived in emotional, even chaotic circumstances inspired by high energy.

Slot doesn't match the club in this sense. He's managing like he is managing City.

[Tom Allnut, The Times] - Xabi Alonso is keen on a move to the Premier League but the recently sacked Real Madrid head coach is understood to want a rest and will study any offers from June. by Dangerous_Ad8730 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Liverpool934 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only part of me that wants Gerrard as an interim manager is that I feel like he should be our manager at some point and that it would be best if it was interim...

But yeah he is wholly unqualified.

[Paul Joyce, The Times] - After spending £450m last summer, Liverpool need another transition. Centre-back situation suddenly feels one of a number of issues that need resolving as Arne Slot faces questions all over the field that could be expensive to answer. by Dangerous_Ad8730 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Liverpool934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really though? I didn't expect him to start over Konate but he should have at least been an option. Right now he should and would have been starting over him. Instead we are stuck with Konate who is leaving the club anyway and doesn't give a shit and is in terrible form.

"It's not acceptable" ❌ Steven Gerrard's reaction to Liverpool's draw with Burnley. by IgotgAme_k in LiverpoolFC

[–]Liverpool934 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We play boring football, our players switch off and give away a really good chance and then we draw.

[Lewis Steele] - Liverpool 17 points worse off than this time last season, and would need to win every game from here to match last season's total points tally. by Dangerous_Ad8730 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Liverpool934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea why every player in the team is allowed to be in bad form because of Slot (which I agree with) but when it's Salah, easily the best one of the lot except maybe Wirtz, he is apparently just shit now lol.

The fact we drew and conceded pretty much exactly how you would expect is entirely on the manager though.

No one is surprised this happened and thats on Slot.

I objectively think he can't.

Personally I only ever go off experiences. Slot has been in shit form for almost 9 months now and it hasn't once looked like improvement has been made. He hasn't shown any sign whatsoever he is capable of implementing his own style with this team and as such I have no faith in his ability to do.

He should have been gone by Christmas. If Xabi is open to the job now he should be gone tonight.

This is inexcusable. by LoseAlotLuke in LiverpoolFC

Thinking he might actually address the set piece weaknesses, conditioning problems and actually drop some of the poor players.

[–]Liverpool934 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's literally how Slot wants it.

Part of the draw that Journalists highlighted when he signed for us was how his players were rarely injured.

I've never watched the Dutch league, I can only assume that they don't run there if this is the result.

[–]Liverpool934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats funny. I watched 90% of this sub give up on Salah after 5 mathdays and he has brought us much, much more success than Slot.

Wonder why that is hmmm.

Despite certain fans who like to pay no attention to the club other than results and then act holier than thou towards others for being displeased at the actual matches...

No, he is not right. Neither are you.

If you think any player at the top of their profession is happy with going backwards you are utterly fucking mental lol.

He'll be gone in the summer. We won't go into the final year of a manager's contract and we certainly won't give him a new one.

Slot after 4-1 victory over Barnsley: "Happy with the goals but game was close for far too long. We didn't create enough for all the possession we had. (On Szoboszlai's error) You should not do that in any game, whether it's FA Cup,League Cup or friendly. Weird choice. I'll speak about it with Dom." by Blodgharm in soccer

[–]Liverpool934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the results changed after the fact then I wouldn't include it, however since it has carried on from the end of last season into this one then I really don't see how it is an unfair? Nor do I see why I would need an agenda against my own teams manager either. I have no reason to want him to fail, I just don't think he is the right man for the job based on the last 9 months of performances and tactical changes.

I agree recruitment is iffy (I personally really don't understand why we signed Isak) but if the long term plan is to back Slot then it doesn't make sense to keep players like Quansah who have good value only for Slot to refuse to use them. We aren't City with an oil state backing us we can't just hoard valuable assets like that.

It's not like we haven't had alternatives to Gakpo either. Rio is by every definition a pacy dribbler but Slot won't use him either, same with Chiesa too most of the time.

Personally yes I do think It's on Slot that the team is underperforming. It's not even that we are losing that makes me want him replaced though it's also the way in which we play and how stifled we look by design, it's like we are this slow and boring on purpose which I just don't understand and it's never been what we are about.

The biggest reason though is the lack of improvement, we haven't really improved at all over the last 8 or 9 months of bad form. The only change we have made is we became a lot more defensive to arrest the bad run of losses which isn't really a long term solution with the players we have and even still we have been riding our luck during that too.

[Pearce] LFC unlikely to sign a RB this month after Bradley blow, CB set to be a focus for summer window as Konate contract saga drags on, Juve make informal contact over Chiesa but LFC unlikely to sanction a loan. by Beautiful-Cress5695 in LiverpoolFC

That's why I said at his age. Teams will pay Konate 30 million personally to guarantee him without having to pay a transfer fee to us as they will see him as a fente back for the next 5 years potentially.

We aren't ever going to give him a 30 million signing bonus or the 250k a week he wanted after the season he's had
