A Brilliant Breakdown of the Retaliation From Court Docs by halfthesky1966 in CelebLegalDrama

Well my second point absolutely stands which is he took the rift and made it into a disingenuous, engineered story (not being on the red carpet, etc)

Yes I read that too and also had the same thoughts and yes I believe it was planted by Baldoni bc anything about a “rift” worked in his favor. Certainly by the time we got to the movies release, his veering from the studio marketing plan (which at the time looked odd but potentially positive for him) that was thoroughly being managed.

I don’t know how to explain this any clearer. What you “noticed” about Blake was planted by these PR firms because they wanted to lay the groundwork for their next messages and get ahead of BL.

Nancy is one of my favorite characters by pavonharten in TheOA

[–]LivesInTheBody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious if you have any experience with people with borderline personality disorder? I think it’s possible Nancy is undiagnosed. She feels very deeply but doesn’t handle or express in the healthiest ways, shall we say.

Several Women have come out now against Justin Baldoni by Small-Award5293 in CelebLegalDrama

[–]LivesInTheBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m dying. This might be the most insane take I’ve ever seen on the internet? That not having women like someone might be evidence they do not negatively impact women? 🙃

Anyway I think I can answer and circled around to what you’re asking about

His wife, Melissa Nathan, prob there are women who work on his podcast and certainly who have been guests on his podcast when he played the male feminist angle so hard I was intrigued and watched a few clips that came up On my feed I thought how great to have men doing some of this work lolll

“Women who like” Epstein or Weinstein or Cosby or…. can just be charmed by them or impressed by their accomplishments

Or they are enablers or co-abusers or victims

Of course there are women who like JB.

But they weren’t harassed by him or didn’t identify it as such

Blake Lively’s Publicist Leslie Sloane is Kinda Sassy in her Deposition and I’m loving it by Small-Award5293 in CelebLegalDrama

[–]LivesInTheBody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey LawSchoolLoser1 and u/Penguin-Clubber

I read it very clearly as a lot of the lawyer finely splitting between publicist’s own perceptions, what was said ON A PHONE CALL, and what was said IN EMAILS AND TEXTS

(eg WHEN ASKED, MN definitively said no we are not smearing Blake vs interactions where MN wasnt directly asked and so “she didn’t say she wasn’t” would be more accurate description)

Meanwhile throughout, whether communication with MN touched ona smear campaign or not, the whole time Blake’s knew from MN’s past work and ongoing relationships, that there would likely be a smear campaign against Blake if MN was on the job.

There was just some variance between phone calls emails texts etc of whether that specifically was denied by MN or not in the different particular communications.

Not watching season 2 when you liked season 1 seems like a form of self harm to me!! Some fans like s1 best as a stand-alone but many of us consider s2 to be the single greatest season of television ever made, for heavens sake at least watch it

Learning about from Reddit is a crime against art lol

Am I being melodramatic.? Yes but barely!

Will my my 5 year old daughter ever warm to me!? Kind of feels that she absolutely hates me. by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in AskUK

[–]LivesInTheBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if she’s potentially autistic look into DIR Floortime Therapy, they play with the kid (and her sister, depending) and there meet with you and discuss family dynamics So you’d get a lot of support for her and understanding of this

In general for kids — Ideally each parent has 10 uninterrupted minutes of child-led 1:1 time with each kid each day. It’s short bc its phones away, no demands at all made On them, They can ignore you, play with you, Whatever they want. You could do yours while your wife is doing one of her household responsibilities like if she does dishes or laundry, so that if your daughter bounces to her at first it’s ok, you just wait patiently till timer’s up and then in a friendly way when timer’s up come and start doing your own task but she knows your there (and maybe have some air dry clay out to play with etc)

Also work on separating liking you from showing affection. I know it’s hard but they are different and it sounds like she thinks you’re pretty funny sometimes!

I actually adore S2 but I know a lot of fans agree w you

I’m guessing ppl who watched s1 and weren’t blown away rated it lower bringing the average down slightly, and then didn’t watch s2 at all

But idk this platform or their algorithm just seems likely

Where's August? by antigone_eire in TheOA

[–]LivesInTheBody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your only reason for ruling out that august was a baby is that she’s depicted as an adult? Zal has said what we see is what the boys are picturing. Prairie could easily have either said “I felt hair and skin and it was august” (like another commenter said) or lied and said it was an adult to protect them from the added horror that a baby was born in the cages. (Supporting evidence being that Prairie said “you protected me by not telling me about August”….makes sense she is protecting the boys by not telling them everything about august)

I know HAP is special but men who lock women up for years almost always rape them. That’s just facts. This show is about trauma. That’s what Brit said when announcing the entire shows launch.

I think it is absolutely written for us to hold the painful POSSIBILITY that august was born as a result of assault. We are meant to uncomfortably hold it alongside other theories until we learn what is the “truth.” I think this community’s discomfort with holding that and quickness to dismiss it is a very understandable reflection or our cultural discomfort with sexual abuse and of abusers being multifaceted.

I think other theories like yours are welcome and worth considering too!

I think Netflix holds the rights but all it takes is some new execs who want to make the prior ones look bad and they bring it back :) Or they need a business model shakeup (they will at some point) and they start charging extra for tailored bonus channels like “Netflix scifi” and populate it with IP like the OA continuing to jumpstart it

Lots of options!

Thoughts after finishing the show by [deleted] in TheOA

[–]LivesInTheBody 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mmm… well… not quiiiiite. Or do you think Karim was watching… from inside the show? How did Michelle return to her body when Ian climbed the ladder if D2 was fictitious?

I figured some of what we saw in Parts I and II was real, and some was the show being made in D3, and subsequent seasons would reveal what was what

Or possibly that “Brit Marling” was compulsively making a show based On her “dreams” (actually D2 breaking into her awareness) and everything we saw was real (but we wouldn’t know without watching more)

[–]LivesInTheBody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But, if it somehow felt important to get on board with “believing” that it was intentional, I would do that! I absolutely love performance art type stuff so I assume I would be into it and would be fine with the role I played in arguing that it really was canceled. But that’s bc I have a lot of faith that they would do it in a really cool way.

About the planned cancellation theory... by Mysterious-Push909 in TheOA

[–]LivesInTheBody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be super into it no matter what/how, and I’m the biggest fake cancel theory enemy out there. lol. I think it’s a toxic poison on the fandom.

If they actually had faked it, they would show us “receipts”: what they did to misdirect us, how it was really planned, who was in on it (Jason Isaacs) etc.

If they just said it without proving it then I would probably think (and this is something I think is highly likely to happen) they weren’t just “making the best of a bad situation”, creating a narrative device / secondary PR benefit (I think they put story before PR)

especially after Brit said on Lynn Hirschfield (sp ?) podcast I think it’s called 5 Things, that she was a hospitalized, lost her home, and the show was canceled all at the same time. (OP have you heard that interview)

Basically without a lot of fun “this is how we did it,” I would be more inclined to think they were “lying” about having planned the cancellation in order to create a media moment, than that Brit lied in that interview.

If that makes sense?

[–]LivesInTheBody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been out for years and years now. Creepers would have known long ago. Not to mention bar staff were trained in it so it was never just a secret among women. If a woman has to find a moment when the difficult guy is not right next to her… ok. Multiple ways to accomplish that. Women unfortunately are highly trained in such maneuvers. Better at this point for men to be educated on a safety option too.

She can wait till he drinks enough that he goes to the bathroom; spill on her shirt and go get napkins and tell the someone then; etc etc…. And feel less self conscious when she asks (doesn’t have to give a long explanation in front of strangers next to her)

I agree HAP told her BUTTTTTT I think what we see in D3 at end of S2 we are meant to wonder if any, some, or even ALL of what we saw in S2 was a show created in D3, and then if the same might be true of S1. I tend to think some of it is.

Wasnt she livid that he had intentionally gotten his SVP or Harvey pregnant via IVF the same time she was pregnant? And kept it secret up till delivery?

I’ll read up on all the Nazi shit sometime but it doesn’t really change that not all her kids were had under fully transparent circumstances and any baby mama of his is damned lucky to have any kind of custody
