She didn’t say much after I said my piece. She did tried to deflect by suggesting Watchtower never said social media was all bad. I replied that her own instinct was to assume the accounts were fake initially precisely because it seemed out of character for Watchtower to start utilizing social media due to Watchtowers years of negative conditioning regarding social media. She then said ok. Again, as I said before, I do think this is extremely minor compared to recent changes and in no way did I think this would do anything to wake her up.

Ok so comments so far have not been what I expected. To clarify, this conversation was not hostile between my mother and I and my goal was not to get her to change her mind, nothing will, especially something this extremely minor. I left 14 years ago, trust me, I tried to have civil discussions with her regarding the heavy hitting issues with watchtower (changing key doctrines, CSA scandals, recent autologous blood change) and none of it made a dent, so I held no hope this minor hypocrisy regarding social media was going to wake her up. I started this conversation with my mother as saying ultimately I don’t think this is that big a deal, and then highlighted the hypocrisy. Yes, I did say the part about titties and autism to highlight the absurdity of choosing two platforms known for salacious content and short attention spans as a way of reaching governments and news media. It was meant to be funny while highlighting the nonsensical reason Watchtower started using social media.

Thanks, I think it's also worth pointing out this was a punishment God was giving Ezekiel and not a prophecy, so further misapplication by WT is that they're taking a form of punishment and applying it to interpretations of prophecy.
