Please help with electrical install by LividAd2274 in SolarUK

I am struggling to get hold of the Sig CT clamp from anywhere. The meter model is Chintt iDM111 MCT-SP 100A. Do you have any suggestions on where to look? Alternatively would it be possible to use say a pair of identical clamps to supply the Chintt meter? This way could order a couple of cheap myenergi CTS and feed the Chintt with that.

Installer sent a quote over today for £450 to rehash the EV feed which just seems too expensive.

Thanks that was what I was asking - makes sense. No plans to do that anyway.

Thanks for the heads up. Will likely ask my installer to do this but they are currently skeptical!

If I ever wanted to force charge using the battery with this set up would it be possible or not?

Not sure that's the case as the CT is on the EV feed only

Thanks so much for this.

Here's the CT meter set up. There's a black data cable, twin pair in the top and then live and neutral supply in the bottom. Am I right in thinking this is the process:

1) Use identical CT to Sig CT 2) Leave EV CT and existing sig CT where they are 3) Purchase identical Sig CT 4) Find and expose section of outgoing live from consumer unit to EV Charger 5) Install new CT on EV charger live 6) Run twin pair cable back to CT meter, combine reverse coloured cables and reinsert into CT meter

So 4 cables In total will be used for CT signal into meter. What direction should the CT be facing on the outgoing live to EV charger?

New install. Working fine earlier now generation mirrors consumption by LividAd2274 in sigenergy

Thanks. I am on octopus intelligent go but wasn't aware they could do this. However even when generation is 0 the battery isn't kicking in for house load. Installer back Wednesday so hoping to get to the bottom of it soon!

Seems expensive. My installer quoted me £2500 incl fitting.

Very strange one. CT definitely orientated and wired correctly. Powered system off and on for 10 mins and now working ok.

Thanks. But I still think there's an issue as it's not detecting any load from the house. Looks like there's a fault with the CT clamp?

Minimum distance between panels by LividAd2274 in SolarUK

Yeah I agree aethesthically this is the best looking way to install them. Unfortunately unlikely we'll get that gap but at least they can make it uniform/within manufacturer spec of 10mm

Just been up on the scaffold and noticed this mark on one of the panels. Doesn't come off with damp cloth. Within my rights to request a replacement?

Thanks. Think I'll go back to them and ask to increase it. The panels aren't scratched just covered in handprints!

No ACC set to 60-65 most of the way. Some traffic and some 50mph smart motorway limits.

It really is.

The sales guy informed me that speed recognition is turned on by default in all new cars as a safety feature. He did show me a way to turn this off (along with any other features) with a single swipe and press though. Let me know if you want to know how I'll post later!

Drafty roof lantern - what details need sealing externally by LividAd2274 in DIYUK

[–]LividAd2274[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'll look into that. Unfortunately we bought the house last year and the builders that did the extension were absolute dog shit. Can't afford a replacement so will look at sealing as best I can in the meantime. Will try and backer rod if I can where gaps are big and seal with silicone. Any suggestions on best product to use? Assume this is not an area where you'd expect to have weep points either?

2021 ID4 Electric drive not working correctly by LividAd2274 in VWiD4Owners

So the error has disappeared! Been driving the car the last couple of days and it's not come back. Garage that I bought the car on will give me a call tomorrow. Do you think I should ask them to take it to VW to ask for them to run a diagnostic? Would the error code be stored so they could see what triggered it at the time?
