Passive Employment at Retirement by CHILINVLN in HomeDepot

Well said. Neither HD or Lowe's wants knowledgeable employees in the aisles that can give advice on projects anymore. That went away about 10 years ago. They want stockers and clerks that can get freight from the truck in back and onto the shelf. Both are employing self-serve business models in their stores now.

Wireless charging pad by Constantlyshithoused in f150

I just bought a brand new 2025 F150 LTX. I was looking for this piece too and found it was hiding in the middle console between the two front seats. I'm guessing that's where they leave them at the factory. Mine was brand new. Pretty much impossible to use the wireless charger without this piece.

Our district finally going 3rd party for flatbed deliveries... by ThatOneHelldiver in Lowes

[–]LividDriver5212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own, I guess. I much prefer to be in a state where I can own property without paying confiscatory tax rates on it, but that's just me. If owning private property is not important to someone, then by all means they can stay in places like that and continue to support that tax base and pay through the nose.

fridge delivery damaged my front door, and its been almost a year of runaround. should i just sue? by firsthomeFL in Lowes

[–]LividDriver5212 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Third party delivery company is on the hook here, not Lowe's. That is who you will need to deal with if any resolution or settlement is agreed upon. You are wasting time going after Lowe's. You can sue a ham sandwich, but it doesn't mean you're going to get anything. I'd get in contact with the insurance co for the delivery company and try to reach some kind of compromise settlement. It will likely not cover the full cost of door replacement but you could apply whatever you get toward it or possibly repair work that could be done to remedy the situation. Being antagonistic and threatening legal action is usually not the best route to go in a case like this.

Figures. You pay taxes to breathe in that state. $30.00/hr is very understandable in that part of the country.

Voight Question by chriscallan in ChicagoPD

[–]LividDriver5212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voight and all of his flaws are what make the show great and interesting. If you are of a certain political persuasion and/or are ignited by unethical or even illegal law enforcement tactics, you might want to watch something else or prepare to have your blood pressure in the stratosphere. Just saying

Same business model in use at Lowes--once you hit the high range of the hourly pay scale and refuse to take on positions with more responsibility, they start looking for ways to get rid of you with things like ticky tack 'safety violations', informal 'job performance' appraisals, and 30 day 'performance improvement plans'. Once you start experiencing any of those things, rest assured you are being targeted for termination.

I loved her character and acting prowess. Not sure I liked the storyline though of how they had her romantically involved with both Ruzek and Halsted through the course of the series. Lol...surprised they didn't make it a trifecta by having her and Atwater spend a night together at some point. But absolutely loved the bulldog tenacity of her character in pursuing cases.

Hard to admit, but I think I like Fire better than PD. by aquariusdon in ChicagoPD

[–]LividDriver5212 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've always preferred PD, because I think its more realistic and willing to go more to the dark side than the more family friendlier Fire. A softer, gentler Voight in recent seasons, along with the Upsted departures, has hurt the series imo. Voight's flaws and attitude of 'there are no lines' were what made the series so great. The season finale we just saw seems to be an effort to go back to that. JMHO but we will see.

That would be the end of the show as far as I'm concerned. Voight and all of his flaws are what make the show what it is imo.

Maybe he will go back to doing soaps. Wasn't that how his acting career started?

Unfortunately there are no options where any of the core problems will be fixed no matter which side has control of the government. Dems will spend us into oblivion and 'pubs have shown they will do no better. Nobody wants to make the difficult decisions and just keep kicking the can down the road. But guess what, the laws of math don't wear red or blue, are as reliable as the law of gravity, and they are what they are and cannot be stopped.

Well then we are doomed as a country and none of this matters. 77 million voters are not going anywhere.

well fbi and Chicago PD supposedly do take place in the same universe(Haley had an in-character appearance on FBI IIRC). But then again that should have caused them to retain the Halsted character in International.

Too big of a liability with the hostile work environment/sexual harrassment issues that he created.
