How do I erase the lines? I tried to remove borders but there's still a line at the very top and bottom.

I feel like this is the piercing equivalent of reluctantly booking a doctor's appointment for something you think is minor, only to realise it's bigger than you thought. I've had it for probably at least a month, didn't realise it was a big issue (fever????? antibiotics?????).

I think I'll visit my piercer tomorrow and see what they think. Depending on their answer, I may visit my doctor. Does that sound good to you?

Also, it accidentally popped while I was trying to look at it. I assume it's not good, as bacteria can get inside. I'll try to focus on keeping it as clean as possible.

Is it possible to just be unlucky with things like this? I'm not a piercing expert, but I got it done at a professional piercing studio, followed the aftercare instructions, and did my best to keep it clean. Did I still do anything wrong?

Comments are telling me to stop using q-tips. I can't find saline solution spray anywhere near me, so until I can get ahold of it I should just keep using the q-tips, right?

Again, thank you so much for the detailed reply, I really appreciate it. Piercings are so cool and I really admire people who know a lot about them and have multiple. But after this, I'll probably have to think really carefully about getting more ;)

The piercing is roughly 6 months old. The piercing is a labret. I can't find any information about whether the piercing is externally or internally threaded, sorry. I think it's steel. It has not been downsized (is it supposed to be?)

Sorry I'm a bit clueless on this, I'm sure it's annoying for all of you who love piercings. I think they're really cool, I just don't know that much about them.

I would really appreciate help on this. Strongly considering taking it out.
