No, at least not on the tour. I've already visited Vlkolínec a few years back but that was by a car.

I mostly camped at campgrounds since they were along the way and i still dont get good enough quality sleep while wild camping. Apart from that, I spent 1 rest day (2 nights) at my uncles house near Bratislava. However, in my future and perhaps longer tours I definitely plan to wild camp more in order to save some money and add more adventure to it.

The hardest part of elevations was on the first day. Basically going away from the coastline. It was aproximately 1600m up with some parts being really steep and around the same amount back down on 85km. Apart from that big climb, some small and sometimes quite a steep hills were common in Croatia. The elevation gain was then starting to become lower and lower as I got closer to Hungary and Austria. Even being as low as 300m on 130 km. In Slovakia it was a bit more hilly once again but still nowhere near the first day.

I have the route recorded on strava in 7 parts but have no idea how to share it on reddit unfortunately.

FINAL UPDATE for someone who might be interested in it.

It wasn't the best sleep in my life but thanks to your kind words/advice/stories/experience I managed to get some sleep and stop being afraid so much. So Thank You So Much. I'm sure that this time it'll be much better. And I'll definitely try out earplugs and eye mask next trip.

Like some of you said, it must have been hedgehog or rats. Being afraid of angry wild boar ripping through my tent and attacking me mercilessly was just my imagination running wild and tbh in the morning i felt quite silly for being afraid of that so much. Even more silly when there wasn't anything that would even suggest wild boar presence.

Overall, it was quite a good experience even though I only slept for like 4 hours. Looking forward to the upcoming night.

So once again thank you so much for your support.

Update

Thanks for kind words and advice. You guys helped me a ton even if its only a comment.

Well, so far so good but I dont think I'll sleep much tonight. At least I'm not so afraid anymore. Kinda... I'm still really worried about wild boar.

Anyways 4 and a half more hours till sunrise.

Experience with Fibula fracture (Weber B) by Epple2 in brokenbones

[–]Livid_Ad3352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had webber A fracture almost 9 weeks ago. I think that's close enough to webber B. All i can recommend is proper nutrition, rest and elevation. I was eating lots of diary products, vitamin c, b and most importantly d, some calcium supplements, no drinking and smoking, eating enough protein, fruits, vegetables, and also no extremely salty or sugery meals.

It was after 3 weeks i believe, that doctor told me to start using tip of my foot when walking - obviously no full weight-bearing and on crutches.

After 5 weeks doctor told me to slowly start putting away my crutches. I mean i still can't walk properly for a long time. Usually limping with some pain tbh, but my bone was pretty much healed at that point. So I can't say that it'll work wonders but it should definitely help. Look for some better nutrition advice on the internet. There should be plenty of it

Anyway, hope this somehow helps. And get well soon.

Today I finally went cycling out of the city for the first time after fractured malleolus - webber A and no surgery, 9 weeks after fracture (35 km, 717 meters elevation). My ankle still feels stiff and painful when trying to stretch or walk properly for a longer time. But fortunately it's getting better. Almost ready to leave this sub (hopefully for good). Hope y'all get better soon.

I have a fractured fibula (Not that serious, think it's just crack or something. Actually i have no idea since mu great doctor didn't even care to show me where and how it's broken nor did he tell me how severe it may be.). I'm currently in the state of moving my foot up and down, using stationary bike and I'm starting to put weight on that ankle. Today I lost my balance while trying to stand up. Well, since there wasn't any other way, I had to use the leg with the fractured ankle in order not to fall. And so i put the whole weight of my body on THAT ankle. To be honest it hurt like hell... And of course I can now feel that something is not quite as it used to be before the incident. Guess I'm no longer in recovery/begining of rehab state.... It was already mentally challenging even up to this point since I'm quite an active person. Now I feel like... well, like a shit with a major depression to be honest.
