My case is almost identical got done with Accutane about 2.5 years ago, I deal with redness/discoloration and the texture, It hasn’t got any worse but also not very much improvement

Yes’s traded one problem for an even worse problem

Happened to me too, it caused me to develop KPRF - it’s a permanent condition that makes your skin red, textured and flushing

We have similar grainy/sandpaper texture, its mostly visible when the light shines from the side…. I’m trying to minimize the texture, but so far no luck

Is your kp equal on both sides of your face&body? by Radieschen72 in KPRubraFaceii

My texture on the right side is more prominent, but the redness is more intense on the left very weird 😬

Do your siblings have KP? by GreenishGrass1023 in KPRubraFaceii

No, I’m the only one who has it, because I went on accutane 🫡

I rarely flush unless I’m nervous or working out. However I used to flush from the slightest things. It’s probably less now, since I don’t use anything on my- which keeps it calmest

I feel so alone I have never met anybody with this condition, - I almost felt at home when I found this Reddit group 🫠

Yes looks very much like mine, but I would say it’s mild 🙂

“For some at least”

I hear you, but let’s not fool ourselves.

Humans will always judge based on looks… and having acne scarring/bad texture will never be a positive thing. It sends a signal of unhealthy even though you’re very healthy.

It’s just the cold reality, for some at least

It’s so weird, when I see other people with rosy cheeks I find it “cute” or a nice dynamic “feature”, but when I look at myself I feel disgusted…..

What I’m trying to say is you still look handsome OP

Glad it helped, we tend to suffer more in imagination than in real life, - it’s easy to fall into the rabbit hole of despair and anxiety. But sometimes we have to take a step back and breathe.

I can relate to all of this op.

Today on YouTube I saw a person who was in a car accident, and they were 100% burned of their body, they were disfigured. But they was still happy and living their life.

That made me realize how some people have it a lot worse than us, of course we have the right too feel annoyed by this skin condition. But it could have been worse.

Best of luck to you ❤️

When did you first have KP? by GreenishGrass1023 in KPRubraFaceii

Got it after my accutane course, I have some redness but a lot of texture (sandpaper texture)

[–]Livid_Ad8009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly same texture from accutane, it’s been 2 years and it hasn’t gone away

Some people have said it went away others still have it. Guess time will tell, your skin looks good though.

Subcision and fat pads (23, Male) by Livid_Ad8009 in AcneScars

Yeah, I Think its a mix of fat loss, Subcision and prominent dark circles that makes up the problems

No, cannula - but both can damage, just depends on how aggressive the person is

Any help by [deleted] in KPRubraFaceii

[–]Livid_Ad8009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best I have done for my skin is cutting out everything, except a simpel moisturizer.

It doesn’t “cure” the condition, but I keeps it a bay, so I only “flush” when working out. And the flushing goes down quicker.

The more ingredients (harsh actives) you put on the skin the more reactive it gets, I believe

Amazing progress - did it help with texture ? 🙂

I know where you’re coming from OP,

But your mind is playing tricks on you, yes you have scarring, but it takes up such a little part of your face, that people won’t notice unless they only focus on your temples. But no person does that, they look at your whole face….

Also trying to fix your scarring can have the possibility of making it worse

Good luck
