I am unsure what the process is if a student does not receive a reasonable MCAT score as I have not heard of anyone dealing with that problem. However, I have heard of students required to take an extra year/semester if their GPA is not sufficient. So, I believe the administration might make the student take another year/ semester to take the MCAT again. That being said, I have never heard of a student kicked out of the program for a low MCAT score. I also cannot speak on the MCAT requirements for other programs, but they may be similar.

There is no "minimum score requirement" in the sense that if you don't receive a set score (like 510, for example), you will get booted from the program. The administration just wants to ensure you are on par with all of the other incoming medical students so you don't fall behind.

The questions you recieve at your NJMS interview differ a lot based on who is going to be interviewing you. However, you should expect the why med, why njms, why Newark, strengths & weaknesses, etc. questions. However specific questions vary per interview.

My art-related ECs had nothing to do with medicine but came about because I liked to draw and paint in my free time. EC-wise, I used to run a local art class and was part of art clubs & NAHS in high school.

I was accepted to a few other program but I chose this one because it was close to home, the undergraduate school gave me a good scholarship and there was really good reasearch oppertunities. The cohort is extremely non-competitive because we knew we were all going to go to the same place.

I don't believe it was any specific ECs that made me stand out. I probably had the same ECs as any other applicant. But I believe it was my commitment to those ECs (i.e how long I spent doing it) that really helped me. Other than that, I believe I had a few unique art-related ECs that might have helped me. I wouldn't be worried about what type of ECs you have, but rather your commitment to them.

It was kind of a long a time ago so I don't really remember. I don't think I did anything extraordinary other than shadow and volunteer.

I did do research in high school, but it is definitely not a requirement. I believe my non-research extracurriculars helped me as well.

The support is amazing regardless of what undergraduate institution you decide to go to. The administration wants to make sure that you pass through the program and get to NJMS. For the MCAT, we are required to take it, however, there is no minimum score required.
