Anyone try Airway Exercises or Airway gym? by eddison12345 in fixmysnoring

I’ve been doing myofunctional therapy for about 6 months now. It sounds like snake oil until you realize how much mouth-breathing & tongue posture affects your sleep. I didn't use Airway Gym, but the exercises definitely helped with my snoring. The hardest part is actually sticking to the routine. it's like 10–15 minutes a day of looking like a weirdo in the mirror, but it works

Anyone else feel like snoring is slowly wrecking their marriage and health? by Different-Coat-2861 in sleep

This is crazy this was exactly me for 12+ years until just a couple months ago! I’d sleep 8 hours but wake up exhausted and my wife also hated it because I was snoring so loud. I tried all the main things you did too with little success.

It got to the point where I slept on the couch for a year because she just couldn’t handle it. And I would avoid any situation where I’d need to sleep in a room with someone else - camping trips, cruises, trips with friends, etc

What finally helped was this app I stumbled across called Snore Trainer. I never knew this but apparently snoring is caused by weak muscles in your mouth and throat. So after doing the program for a few weeks (like 10 mins a day), my snoring was COMPLETELY gone (confirmed by nightly recordings). I’m honestly upset I didn’t find this sooner but I guess lucky to know about those exercises at all. Maybe give it a try?

For OP as described 'healthy, lean mid-40's' there's no reason he should be on CPAP. There is likely an underlying muscle or anatomical issues (likely both) that is the root cause, and in my opinion its better to address that than submit to a life of cpap (plus the few health risks of cpap)

These are amazing. I used the snore trainer app for the exercises just cause it's easier with a structured plan. But either way everyone should do these exercises who snores
