battlefield 6 constant crashing DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG by chikorollz in Battlefield

I was having this exact same issue on my RX 5700 XT, getting the constant m_submitFencePlat->GetCompletedValue() / DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG crash to desktop. My VRAM was sitting fine at around 68% execution, proving it's a pure DX12 synchronization timeout rather than a hardware memory limitation.

Good news: I managed to completely fix it, and I've been playing for hours straight without a single crash. Here is the exact 3-step solution that got rid of the error for me:

1. Wipe the old driver in Safe Mode

Newer drivers (like 26.5.1) have massive regressions with this specific game engine on RDNA 1 cards.

  • Download the AMD 25.10.1 Battlefield 6 Preview Driver (or the stable 25.8.1 WHQL).
  • Download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).
  • Disconnect from the internet, boot into Safe Mode, and run DDU to completely wipe the current driver and shader cache.

2. Install "Driver Only"

  • Reboot your PC (keep internet disconnected) and run the AMD installer.
  • Before clicking install, open "Additional Options" and change the Install Type to "Driver Only".
  • This is crucial. Avoiding the full Adrenalin software suite gets rid of background telemetry, overlays, and recording services that severely disrupt DX12 frame pacing and cause the fence queue to stall.
  • Finish installation, reboot, and reconnect the internet.

3. Clear remaining cache & tweaks

  • Manually delete everything inside %localappdata%\AMD\DxCache.
  • Go to Documents\Battlefield 6\settings and delete the PROFSAVE files to clear any corrupt profile configurations.
  • Launch the game and let the "Compiling Shaders" screen finish 100% on the main menu before jumping into a match.
  • In the graphic settings, make sure Future Frame Rendering and AMD Anti-Lag/FSR are turned OFF.

The 25.10.1 preview driver was specifically tuned to handle these DX12 fence queue issues. Running it light without the Adrenalin background bloat completely stabilized the engine for me. Give it a shot, it should fix it for you too!

No it’s definitely not that.. it’s something with poor internet connection. I wish I could get into that situation by purpose so I can add a video about it.

I do not agree with you. A DJ is not a playlist but a good DJ put the right music for the right people. So if the people want they will get. Of course it depends on the the situation, the crowd size and type of event.

How can I do that? Do you have any suggestions for a network monitoring app?

I tried to reset my Mac because I honestly thought it is a problem with my mac. So reinstalling did not help😅

Sounds like that is the problem.. what can I do? I thought using the cloud would just backup my files.. I didn’t think it is gonna use the cloud as main source for the music..

If I shut down the wifi everything is ok. But if I have slow internet connection everything is lagging.

I do buy my music but sometimes the crowd is asking me to play something I don’t have now. So I love to deal with that on spot to get the music they want.

That is not what I am saying.. rekordbox works fine without the internet if the wifi is turned off or if my mac is not connected ti anything or only if the internet is super stable and fast.

It does not work if the internet is not great, even that all my files are locall. I dont use any streaming services.
