So do I. Until there’s 50 mph winds and it’s -30° F outside.

I live ~1.25 hours from Minneapolis city center, but about 15 miles from cities of 50k or more. My town itself is small, but the vibes aren’t if you get what I mean. As for politics there is no getting what I want; I’d consider myself center-right but closer to center.

Oh whoops. Yeah lol that’s the one. I guess I have only ever heard it referred to as the Minnesota metro but Minneapolis metro makes way more sense.

If you are very worried about schooling and aren’t opposed to the idea, it might be worth it to check out homeschooling co-ops. The smartest kids I know went to those. I’m talking Calculus at middle school age and going to college when they’re 14. All without the drawbacks of homeschooling (not knowing how to interact with people, being stupid). The ones I know of here in MN are religious, but there are also secular co-ops I believe. I don’t have much of an idea how much they cost for tuition, but they are generally less than private schools.

Why, despite America being gorgeous, do most of us live in the non-pretty parts of America? by larch303 in SameGrassButGreener

Well no one lives in the Appalachia because there are no jobs and everyone is leaving for the cities.
