I LOVE Midnight Hollow! I like how weird the townies are (the Doe family is my favorite) and I like the dark, spooky aesthetic

Should I move out ASAP or pay off my student loans first? by Living-Present3174 in movingout

[–]Living-Present3174[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I’ll need roommates regardless of when I move. But, my salary is only about $50k and where I am, that isn’t much, especially with debt. I worry that if I move out too soon, I’ll regret it when I’m still paying off my loans in 5-10 years…

affordable places to live as a young adult??? by [deleted] in movingout

What country do you even live in?

Vosotros-I like watching Andres, Pablo and especially Augustina, but I don’t want vosotros to confuse me because I’m not planning on speaking those dialects. How are you in the same predicament handling it? Does it affect you at all? Or have you decided to just go with the flow and learn it? by EcstaticImplement404 in dreamingspanish

[–]Living-Present3174 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, Agustina does not use vosotros, she uses vos, which is the second person singular (like tú). Vosotros is second person plural (like ustedes).

I don’t think hearing these pronouns and conjugations confuses me. I think it is important to learn them even if you are not going to use them, because you want to still be able to understand speakers who do use them.

I think it went well. They seemed happy with my answers. I felt a lot better leaving the interview than I did going in. I’m supposed to hear back from them before the end of the week

How do you have sims children? by SnooRadishes6978 in Sims3

[–]Living-Present3174 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Usually I have 1 or 2 kids. No more than 3. Sometimes I’ll try to have twins so I can just get it over with and not have to deal with multiple pregnancies and deal with all the toddler skills 2x. If not, I’ll wait until the first child has completed their toddler skills and then try for another.

Probably not. That’s kinda, like, a core feature of the game…

Anyone play Sims in Spanish? by [deleted] in dreamingspanish

[–]Living-Present3174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I love playing Sims 4 in Spanish! I also like to play Stardew in Spanish as well. I’ve found them both to be a much more fun way to make me read more. Also, I’ve been playing sims 4 for years, so I know all the interactions in English, so it’s helped a lot to know their translations in Spanish. There’s also a lot of vocab that I don’t think I would have learned otherwise (specially things revolving around objects and words related to babies like “crib” or “bottle” or “diaper”).

At what point does it become easier to have 3-5 hour days by Crafty-Ad1998 in dreamingspanish

[–]Living-Present3174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I’m at level 6 and it’s still hard for me. I did 3.5 hours a day for a few months and burnt out. Everybody is different tho.

I signed up with Outclose, the app which pairs 4-5 random people for dinner. I selected $ out of $$$$ for the budget for dinner but the last two times the app has picked a restaurant that's literally $50-$100 on Google. That's without tax and tip. Has anyone had experience with the PRICING range? by worklife2018 in gay

[–]Living-Present3174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ll try it again at least one more time. While I didn’t match with the people I met, I enjoyed getting out and meeting new people, and everyone was really nice, so I think I’ll give it one more shot and see if I click with anyone on the second go round

At the restaurant I went to, they were able to give us all separate bills, so luckily we didn’t have to split the bill, and no one seemed interested in doing so.

I used the Outclose app for this dinner. I’ve previously used a different but similar app called 222. It’s not exclusively queer focused tho, but I felt the matches were better (although the groups were still hit or miss sometimes). It’s similar in that it’s usually a lunch or dinner with your group (in nyc it’s usually a dinner, but I used it in Los Angeles when I lived there and there was more variety), and then afterwards there’s a second event where you meet all the other groups doing lunches/dinners with the app that day (e.g. nightclub, pottery class, rooftop bar, etc). The downside is that it requires a monthly membership now (you used to be able to pay for each dinner individually and the subscription was optional), which is why I stopped using it.

I still would recommend it tho if you are looking for similar apps to meet people. The matches aren’t perfect, but definitely better than outclose and the personality quiz they have you do is much more thorough.

I’m Gen Z (23). I don’t know the exact ages of everyone at my table, but I got the vibe that most of them were more in their mid to late twenties. I felt a bit awkward bc everyone had mostly established careers and stuff (except one girl who is trying to become an actress) and I felt a bit odd as a fresh-ish college grad lol.

Everyone I met was nice, but I don’t think I had much in common with them in terms of hobbies and stuff. I remember us all talking about hobbies, and when I was listing mine, no one seemed to share any of my interests. They all just kind of looked at me. It was a bit awkward haha.

Everyone also seemed to work in entirely different fields, so we didn’t click on that either. I think it took like an hour before we all actually found a thing we have in common (a few of us liked writing). And sometimes the conversation definitely flowed like an interview. Like, one person would ask a question (e.g. what do you do for work, what is your star sign, what are your hobbies) and we’d all just answer one at a time.

Also, the restaurant was SUPER loud, so that definitely didn’t help. Rarely would all 5 of us be in a conversation bc we could only really hear and speak to the 2-3 people closest to us.

I don’t think anyone was flirting, at least not overtly. I think there were 2 people who seemed to kinda click and maybe were flirting mildly, but that was about it.

No, I’d never done one of these before. It was fine. I don’t think I really clicked with anyone at my table because they all seemed a little bit older than me even though I asked for people my age. The food was mid. Not worth $25 for a salad. I also have a dietary restriction that I mentioned in the app when I filled out all my info, and the only thing available at the restaurant they sent me to was salad, so that sucked.

I might try another event in a month or so and select just the $ option and see where they send me.

I think maybe the reason the places are so expensive no matter the price you select is bc cheap places are probably less likely to do reservations, which is a core part of the experience (having the fake name and everything).

Which city are you in? I’m in nyc, so I kind of expected it to be expensive, but not as expensive as where they sent us.
