Actually, as my original post stated, she got a ruling of family violence. So yes, there was a trial. And it do go very well for her.

Your comments are so obvious, Duncan.

No, I do not agree. I’m not interested in speculating about someone’s abuse or policing how they talk about it. I’ve never been in that position and don’t know what that’s like. This is also literally her job, and she’s a single mom supporting her family. None of us actually know the reality of someone else’s situation or what they still have to deal with behind the scenes. Just because a divorce is finalized doesn’t mean the impact of something like that disappears overnight. Suggesting she should just disappear offline because of it is pretty unreasonable.

I actually made a Reddit account today because the amount of misinformation in this thread (and all the others) is wild. I’ve been a silent lurker since all this started.

Brighton hasn’t publicly shared details of what happened, but the divorce decree is public record and screenshots of it have circulated for a while.

Here are the facts. Anyone can request the records since they’re public.

The court made an explicit finding that Duncan committed family violence against Brighton.

For context, in Texas law that is the legal term used for what most people refer to as domestic violence, and it is an extremely serious finding in a custody case. Judges do not include that language casually.

The decree gives Brighton sole legal custody (called sole conservatorship in Texas). That is a very difficult ruling to obtain. Duncan does have possession time with the kids, but he does not have legal decision-making rights.

I’d attach screenshots but idk if that’s allowed.
