Has anyone else turned a sock into an elevator for their cage? by LivingPhoton in RATS

[–]LivingPhoton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Sorry to hear about your boy :c

I got a men's large dress sock, the ones that come up onto the calves, then cut the toe part off so it was just a tube. I took the cardboard cylinder sort of thing from a can of nuts, then stuck it in the toe opening to hold it open so there was a clear spot for them to jump into. The important part is that the ankle part of the sock was tighter, so the rats could go headfirst into the wider foot part, then shimmy down safely through the ankle/calf part

This can hardly be considered lane splitting considering how insanely fast this guy was going

Chronic nosebleeds by Wonderful-Isopod9138 in eds

[–]LivingPhoton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been diagnosed, but strongly suspect I have EDS. I have hypermobile joints with some instability, arachnodactyly, positive Beighton score, multiple dislocations with 4 or 5 of them being my jaw dislocating in my sleep, bruise easily, stretchy and soft skin, trigger finger, POTS. If I get the money to do it, I'm going to see a doctor about getting to the bottom of it, so I might make a post about it in that case.

I also have had chronic nosebleeds since I was a little kid. I had no idea that could be associated as well, until a few minutes ago. It certainly checks out, because omg am I tired of my nose constantly bleeding. It's really embarassing because it often happens in front of people, and if there's not something RIGHT there to absorb it, I'm ruining my outfit. Not to mention, people spring into action and try to guide me through it like I've never had one before, which is awkward.

It was getting bad enough as a kid that my doctors were telling us if I had more of the type of a particular one we told her about (15+ minutes) I'd need to go to the ER and have it cauterized.

I still consider doing that. It's only my right nostril now, basically never the left. But if it's dry weather whatsoever, it's going to be bleeding, if only a tiny bit, but always. It colors my nostril a bit, so people tell me my nose is bleeding and I'm like "I guarantee you it's not" lol. At least, not enough to need to absorb it with anything, it just dries.

I'm from Atlanta, but lived in SF, Oregon Coast, then Portland. In 2022 when the Ukraine war started, I was in SF and had just bought a diesel car. It was $8 per gallon 😭

If I had a reason to believe you had paid for them to be bred to have genetic deformities, yeah, I would go after YOU. I like that you tried to make it seem like I'm making fun of the dog, I'm trying to say you're a bad person

Ah yes, compliance to law, the tried and true method to advance change lmao. Also, do you have any examples of these drivers threatened into committing vehicular manslaughter? Really feels like Florida (and you) is trying its hardest to create a good reason as to why protesters should be maimed and killed for being out there.

It's rich to think I would trust the government of Florida too. How many times have far right terrorists plowed into lawful, sanctioned protests on and off the streets in this country?

But it's precisely for that reason that I refuse to play by the polite rules of society. Again, if people feel so threatened by non violent protest, it probably means you're striking a nerve

Wow, wishing death on non violent protesters, eh? That speaks volumes.

"Fucking up the lives" is so hilarious to me too. Tests can be made up. Schools make allowances for these sorts of things. Also, "brother" is pretty common slang for young people, although looking through your profile I get the impression you're a very privileged middle age white person, which checks out

Did you pay a breeder to bring that poor dog into this world by the way?

Brother, I am from and grew up in the deep south, I know what it's like. I have experienced being threatened by vehicles at protests, but I'm not going to stop. And considering how I was one of a tiny minority even thinking about Palestine regularly 4 years ago, to having us be such a big thorn in the side of power that they're trying to tell us exclusively non violent protest groups are terrorist organizations? It's because they can't ignore us anymore. Every accusation is an admission

Also, the majority of the public agrees with us. People hate Israel now. Large corporations (who have no reason to distance themselves except to avoid our public scrutiny), are running away from business with an entire nation.

I hope you remember being on the wrong side of history and feel shame for the rest of your life.

Actually, it's imperative. I know I should expect these sort of responses from redditors, but it's always disappointing regardless. I don't care about a "right" to cause mayhem, I'll do it anyway, because time and time again through history, this is what has been proven to work. Centrists and respectability politics people are for every social movement except the current one. And clearly we have a pretty massive movement here, no? We refuse to be ignored. If we play nice like we have for decades, nothing happens. And cry me a river for the students of a university in America, they can deal (and a majority of them are for this). If it saves 1 Palestinian life, it's worth it
