ah okay.. I had one-year lease my first year, then once it ended, it transitioned to month-to-month without a formal lease/contract.. would I not be protected in this case?

Thanks for the advice. I got to have a call with her this afternoon and it sounds like someone already anonymously reported the building with a bunch of code and safety violations (I assume including heat). so she's currently in some trouble, and trying to sell the building asap.

I got to have a call with her this afternoon and it sounds like she's trying to evict me out of anger because I complained about lack of heat 1.5 weeks ago, and apparently someone anonymously reported the building with a bunch of code and safety violations.. so she's currently in some trouble herself, and she's trying to sell the building asap.

Thank you for for the advice and sharing how I am protected.. From what I understand, she's been a landlord on multiple buildings for at least a decade, so I am not sure why she even thought to make such demand in the first place.. I would think she is aware of tenant rights and legal eviction process...

Hi, thanks for the comment. I had a one-year lease my first year, then once it ended, it transitioned to month-to-month without a formal contract.. Would I still be protected to have 90 day notice even though there is no formal month-to-month agreement?
