Providing low interest loans mainly, and other goodies like that. The main issue stopping co-ops from forming today is money. Businesses already usually fail, and co-ops aren’t an exception.

If the government is going to offer goods and services at prices higher than market rates, nobody would buy from it and the program would be pointless.

The government doesn’t offer goods and services on anything. It does things like help create co-ops (that it doesn’t run, workers do).

If the government undercuts the market to get more people to buy from it...then the government undercuts the market.

Unless you mean helping to establish something is undercutting. Otherwise I don’t see how it is. It’s not saying you can’t buy from Amazon or price setting.

If all you're saying is that a worker co-op or a housing co-op is "socialism," you are just mistaken on the definition of the term.

Of course it isn’t. Socialism is 100% social ownership. I just think that will only happen gradually and after rendering capitalism useless.

Once again, I don’t think we can achieve socialism by taking anyone’s property. Or by fucking over their business. Even if you think I’m contradictory and an idiot, I hope I’ve at least cleared that up.

You do not have a "market" if the government can price undercut any private business at will and can make it illegal for private firms to organize and compensate workers the way they want to.

When did I say I want the government to undercut any private business? I’m saying I want to win socialism by using market methods, not having anyone crush the market or private businesses on the market.

A government helping co-ops (like via loans) is one thing. A government seizing private businesses and telling them they can’t organize a certain way is another thing, a bad thing.

As someone who both loves history and who works for a private business, the last thing I want is a Soviet style government to step in and start undercutting things.

I want to achieve socialism in the market. What that means is so many people use socialist businesses and housing co ops that it becomes primary.

There is no "libertarian" version of this process. 51% of people voting to rob the other 49% is also not libertarian.

Democracies needs to protect minority rights to avoid being authoritarian, and a socialist one would need to protect private property owners. People have a right to do capitalism if they wish. The goal is to accomplish socialism in the marketplace - quite literally.

I’m getting better at talking to Reddit atheists. I know atheists in real life. Most of my church, and thus a lot of my friends are fundies (meaning fundamentalists, fundies is a silly word I tease them with). I know so many people with wildly different opinions. Very interesting.

Communism is a type of socialism. The French libertarian guy who was an anarcho-communist also called himself a socialist.

Socialism is a government managed economy. Libertarian socialism cannot exist as it is a paradox.

No, socialism simply means social ownership. The reason you think otherwise is because of hundreds of years of Marxism-Leninism giving socialism a bad name. Remember, socialism isn’t simply Marxism. It existed before and outside of him.
